Starting out with WWE Studios movies, Cena has begun bursting onto the scene with some tremendous performances in major blockbuster films.

The Marine - 20% (2006)

John Cena first tried out his hand in the acting world through WWE Studios, with the company clearly seeing the potential in him as an actor. Cena kickstarted The Marine franchise, which is something that the company has continued to keep pushing out ever since.

He showed his ability in this movie as a top action star and while he was a little raw, he certainly helped make the film a lot of fun to watch. It isn't the greatest action film of all time, hence its low rating, but it is certainly an easy watch.

Playing With Fire - 21% (2019)

Not every movie can be a major success, and unfortunately for John Cena, Playing With Fire didn't quite hit home with critics. However, the movie that focuses on a group of smokejumpers who are given an interesting new task, to look after three children who have been split from their parents after an accident.

Of course, the group aren't used to looking after children and that is where some great comedy begins as they struggle to deal with the demands of looking after children. Taking macho-men and putting them into a different situation is a simple plot, but it certainly does deliver with humor.

Daddy's Home 2 - 21% (2017)

This one is technically a Christmas movie, which is also a direct sequel to Daddy's Home, continuing to work the same story with new additions. One of those new additions is John Cena, who s the cast for this film as Roger.

The film has some huge names from Will Ferrell to Mark Wahlberg, and there is plenty of comedic moments throughout the film for people to enjoy. However, the storyline just isn't as strong or emotional as the original, which is why it was given a much lower rating.

Sisters - 60% (2015)

WWE. The movie, as the title hints to, focuses on two sisters who have to go back home as their parents prepare to sell their family home.

They end up throwing one final party out of anger at their childhood home being sold, and this is where John Cena enters the movie where he portrays a drug dealer, Pazuzu, in what is a fun ing role.

The Wall - 65% (2017)

The Wall is a war thriller movie and is the type of role that people may stereotypically expect John Cena to take on, purely just because of his size and physical appearance. Cena works as a sniper in this film alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but they end up being trapped by an Iraqi soldier.

It is an incredibly tense movie that has audiences questioning what will happen with every move, with one wrong one potentially being fatal. Cena puts in a great performance within the movie in what was a well-received film.

Ferdinand - 71% (2017)

Ferdinand saw John Cena lend his voice to the animated world in a major way as he took on the lead role of Ferdinand himself. Cena was fantastic in this movie which is likely something that links back to his wrestling career where the need to really emote himself is crucial.

It's a heartwarming film with a great story about a large bull who doesn't want to be involved in bullfighting, despite that being his purpose. It ticks all the boxes needed for an animated movie, it teaches moral lessons, has vibrant characters and the fact it gained an Oscar nomination shows how good it was.

Trainwreck - 84% (2015)

Trainwreck was one of the first major blockbuster movies that John Cena was part of, but not in the way that most expected. Despite his build making him an obvious typecast for an action movie, which is why his comedic approach in this film worked as a perfect element.

While Cena is only a ing role in this, his over the top performance as the gym addict who is just obsessed with his body and wanting to have very vocal sex makes for the funniest scene in the movie. Overall, the film itself is very funny and that is why it ended up gaining such a high rating.

However, his performance in this film took it to a new level. Playing the role of Mitchell, he is one of the overprotective parents who are desperate to stop his daughter from having sex on her prom night. He goes above and beyond in his role as a father and he is part of many of the films funniest moments.

Tour De Pharmacy - 89% (2017)

This movie might not be as well known as others on this list, mainly because it was only a television movie. However, it was an incredibly funny one, bringing together an amazing cast with the likes of Orlando Bloom and Andy Samberg being involved in the project as well.

It featured the cast as cyclists, with the movie taking a detailed look at the infamous doping scandals in the world of cycling at the professional level. The movie do so in a comedic fashion, with over the top acting and it really works to create a funny and informative movie.

Bumblebee - 91% (2018)

When it comes to John Cena's greatest movie, Transformers movies created to date, taking a far more serious approach and shining a real spotlight onto the most popular Transformer, Bumblebee.

John Cena takes on one of the lead 'human' roles here, as Jack Burns, who is someone who isn't sure of them, but ultimately, helps Bumblebee. He is an anti-hero in the film and Cena really plays things well, proving he is more than capable of leading a major blockbuster film if given the opportunity.
