WARNING: This article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga from Chapter 212 and beyond!!Jujutsu Kaisen has had some of the most emotional and shocking moments in modern anime, and season 3 is shaping up to be no different. While fans eagerly await its release, speculation is already running wild about where the season might end. Given the intensity of the Culling Game arc, there is no doubt that the finale will leave viewers devastated.

With plenty of heartbreaking and dramatic moments to choose from, one plot twist in particular stands out as the most powerful way to close out the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen season. If the anime adapts up to a certain shocking betrayal, it could leave fans reeling and perfectly set the stage for the story’s endgame.

The Meguna Twist Is the Perfect Ending Point

One of Jujutsu Kaisen's Most Heartbreaking and Shocking Moments May be the Season 3 Finale

One of the most devastating and unexpected twists in Jujutsu Kaisen is Sukuna's shocking betrayal of Yuji, taking control of Megumi’s body and effectively erasing the person Yuji once considered a close friend. This moment completely shifts the course of the story, making it an ideal point to conclude season 3. Ending on this dark note would leave fans with a heavy sense of despair, emphasizing just how dire the situation has become.

A final shot of Yuji, staring into the distance in shock as Sukuna and Uraume walk away, would make for a hauntingly effective season finale. It would give the season a tragic yet powerful conclusion while making it clear that the story is entering its final and most intense phase. This cliffhanger would make sure that fans are desperate to see what happens next and would probably make MAPPA gives the series more focus to produce season 4 of Jujutsu Kaisen faster.

Why Gojo’s Return Is an Unlikely Finale

While Gojo Could be the Finale Twist, He Will Probably Not Be

Another potential but unlikely stopping point is Gojo’s much-anticipated return. While seeing the fan-favorite sorcerer break free from the Prison Realm would be an incredibly hype moment, it is too far into the story to be adapted within a single season. Unless the anime extends its episode count significantly, reaching this point in season 3 would feel rushed and undermine the weight of earlier events. This means that Gojo will likely return to the anime sometime during the fourth season, however the third season may include flashbacks of him to satisfy fans and remind them of his situation.

Instead, it is more likely that the season will focus on Yuji’s growing despair and the loss of his closest ally, Megumi. The pacing of the Culling Game arc suggests that stretching the season long enough to reach Gojo’s return would be difficult. While his comeback will undoubtedly be a major highlight of the series, ending season 3 with the Meguna twist instead would make for a more emotionally impactful and fitting finale, making Jujutsu Kaisen fans once again have to wait for the next season with a massive cliffhanger.
