Warning--Spoilers for Jurassic World: Dominion Ahead!
Jurassic Park franchise.
As with all other films in the series, Dominion forces its cast of characters into harrowing situations which could easily spell death for any one of them. As a result, some of these characters prove their lasting bravery--while others will go down in history as cowards.
Henry Wu
Dr. Henry Wu is a BioSyn geneticist who worked as the dinosaurs' chief breeder at the original Jurassic Park. B.D. Wong reprises the role after appearing in the franchise's first film in 1993 and all three of the Jurassic World films.
Henry Wu has the uncanny ability to miss all the action each time a dinosaur incident occurs, having avoided any real peril throughout his four separate film appearances. While he eventually has a change of heart and works with the protagonists, he isn't about to put himself in harm's way to do so.
Lewis Dodgson
Campbell Scott plays the villainous Dr. Lewis Dodgson, the CEO of BioSyn who attempts to overrun the world's agriculture by introducing a strain of genetically engineered locusts into the ecosystem. Dodgson previously appeared in the first Jurassic Park film, portrayed by Cameron Thor.
As the primary antagonist, Dodgson very rarely gets his own hands dirty in committing his heinous acts, instead of hiring others to do the jobs he sees himself above doing on his own. He remains safe in his headquarters during much of the dinosaur onslaught, only leaving in a failed attempt to escape the facility while leaving the others to die.
Maisie Lockwood
Maisie Lockwood, portrayed by Isabella Sermon, is one of the bravest children in the Jurassic Park franchise. After learning that she is a genetically engineered human, Maisie released the dinosaurs into the world at the end of the previous film. She finds herself kidnapped at the onset of Dominion, forcing Owen, Claire, and their team to desperately search for the missing child.
Maisie has an overabundance of confidence, willing to put herself in harm's way just to live a "normal life" as a teenager. However, her overconfidence only puts her in peril, forcing her foster family to mount a desperate rescue attempt on her behalf. While Maisie isn't one to run from a fight, perhaps strategic retreat is a quality she should endeavor to learn.
Ramsay Cole
Ramsay Cole is the whistleblower that alerts Drs. Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm to the crimes of BioSyn and Dr. Lewis Dodgson. Initially presented as a possible minion of Dogson's, Cole eventually reveals himself as the true hero behind exposing the corrupt company, bringing an end to its many crimes.
Though Cole doesn't get much dinosaur action in Dominion, he does prove his bravery in other ways, as he put himself in danger merely by working with BioSyn's opposition. Despite the peril of his predicament, Ramsay Cole is a man who is willing to do what is right, no matter what the consequences might be.
Kayla Watts
Kayla Watts is a former Air Force pilot who now flies illegal contract missions for BioSyn. However, after coming across Owen's team in Malta, Watts turns on BioSyn and helps the protagonists take them down throughout the film. She is portrayed by She's Gotta Have It star DeWanda Wise.
Despite her somewhat villainous beginnings, Kayla Watts quickly becomes one of the most valuable of the heroes' team, consistently aiding in their escape from danger. Even though she hardly knew the heroes at the beginning of the film, she worked tirelessly to keep her newfound friends alive, even if it meant potentially sacrificing her own life to do so. In the end, she is rewarded for her efforts by coming out as a hero in the BioSyn collapse.
Ian Malcolm
Jurassic Park gave audiences one of The Lost World. Now, after a brief cameo in Fallen Kingdom, Malcolm returns in a featured role as the beloved mathematician, who reunites with the other survivors of the original Jurassic Park incident to take down BioSyn once and for all.
Dr. Ian Malcolm has never been one to run from a confrontation, and this remains true in his latest appearance. If anything, Malcolm's bravery has only grown in the years since his last dinosaur encounter, as, in one scene, the hero heroically distracts one colossal dinosaur with a torch while his friends escape, eventually plunging the fiery pole into his attacker's mouth in truly epic fashion.
Ellie Sattler
Laura Dern reprises her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler in Jurassic World: Dominion. After disappearing from the franchise after 3, Sattler now works with Owen Grady and Claire Dearing to take down BioSyn and protect the dinosaurs from a second extinction. In so doing, she finally reunites with Ian Malcolm and Alan Grant.
Ellie Sattler consistently plunges herself into dangerous situations time and time again whenever it benefits the group as a whole. With little thought toward her safety, Ellie always rises to the occasion, whether it means wading through half-dead locusts, facing down a giganotosaurus, or merely dealing with Grant and Malcolm's egos.
Claire Dearing
Bryce Dallas Howard, who has been working diligently on several Star Wars projects over the last few years, returns to acting in Dominion by reprising her role as Claire Dearing from the previous two films. The former director of Jurassic World, Claire now works tirelessly to protect the dinosaurs that have escaped into the world. Now also the foster mother of Maisie Lockwood, Claire and her team struggle to track down the girl after she goes missing.
A far cry from the apathetic director of Jurassic World that she once was, Claire has become one of the most altruistic and caring characters in the franchise. In Dominion, she proves herself willing to leap across buildings, eject herself out of airplanes, and take down an entire evil corporation just to save Maisie, proving herself to be a true hero.
Alan Grant
Dr. Alan Grant is one of the bravest characters in the entire Jurassic Park franchise, who returns to help his fellow survivors Ian Malcolm and Ellie Sattler in taking down the evil BioSyn corporation for good. Played by veteran actor Sam Neill, Grant is one of the few characters with extensive knowledge and experience when it comes to surviving dinosaur attacks.
Alan Grant is the original hero of the Jurassic Park franchise, and his heroism has not given way with age. Dr. Grant is still very much the man who once put his life on the line to protect his loved ones from a dinosaur attack all those years ago at the original park, and does so once more in this film without a second thought, knowing that he must protect and serve.
Owen Grady
Chris Pratt returns one last time to play the trilogy's protagonist, Owen Grady. As a former employee of Jurassic World, Grady feels it is his responsibility to help end the illegal dinosaur trade for good, gathering a crew of like-minded individuals to help him do so.
Owen Grady is a man without fear. Over the three films in the Jurassic World saga, he has faced down every dinosaur that has crossed paths with him, remaining calm and steady in the face of their looming presence. In Dominion, Grady leaps into action at the drop of a hat when it means saving his family from a grisly end in the jaws of a dinosaur, saving them from certain death on several occasions. In a franchise filled with heroic personalities, Owen Grady might just be the greatest of them all.
