Jurassic World Evolution from Frontier Developments plc took the sim world by storm after allowing players to create their own Jurassic Park, complete with terrifying dinosaurs roaming across vast vistas. The sequel, Jurassic World Evolution 2, continues to boast several powerful creatures.
These dinosaurs are often predatory and can certainly put guests and the park rangers in a lot of danger if they were to ever escape. With inclusions inspired by the movie franchise, there are some fan favorites to populate the park, alongside some newer additions that will capture budding designers' imaginations.
Updated June 6th, 2022 by George Chrysostomou: Jurassic World Dominion is placing even more attention on the Jurassic franchise, and for fans who are preparing to enjoy the latest installment, they may want to revisit Jurassic World Evolution 2, to immerse themselves in this world. As players develop through the game they'll be accessing even more powerful dinosaurs to unleash in their parks.
Majungasaurus
Some dinosaurs just look nasty and the Majungasaurus is one of them. Growing up to 9 meters in length, the creature is agile, strong, and resilient. Those spikes along its back and razor-sharp teeth are sure to deal out significant damage to anyone crossing its path.
It's one of the many predators in Jurassic World Evolution 2 and contains the bite to match its appetite. The power of that jaw isn't the only terrifying thing about the Majungasaurus though. It's also been known for its cannibalistic behavior, a move that demonstrates what lengths it will go to, to find a meal.
Scorpius Rex
When looking at some of the best dinosaur video games of all time, the Scorpius Rex doesn't come up because of its originality, despite its awesome name. In regards to Jurassic World Evolution 2 it's actually a part of the DLC that can be purchased, and it's well worth the buy.
Another speedy predator, that thick skin is the least of the worries for any Jurassic keeper. It's a hybrid of a number of species including the Scorpion Fish, which contains deadly venom. It will tear through its prey with ease and can get to the length of around 8 meters. Perhaps the claws are tame in comparison to the poison.
Pentaceratops
Power and predators usually go hand-in-hand, but that doesn't mean a herbivore can't boast some strength of its own. Despite its slightly smaller stature, the Pentaceratops shouldn't be overlooked when it comes to sheer brute force. It can still grow up to 7 meters though.
That beak is pretty sharp but it's the horns that a keeper will have to look out for. From a standing position, the Pentaceratops is powerful. Give it a run-up and it's almost unstoppable. It's heavy too, which gives the beast further momentum when it's about to strike.
Herrerasaurus
Another predator, what's interesting about the Herrerasaurus is that it's actually one of the smallest dinos in the game. That shouldn't fool any keepers though, who will be well aware of what this monstrosity is capable of. It's pretty light and can grow to just over 4 meters.
It's far faster than most dinosaurs and speed gives it power. That tail is like a well-designed battering ram and can hit with a surprising force. The strength of the jaw and the size of the teeth of this beast means that it can take on a foe of any size, besting both familiar and new dinosaurs from the Jurrasic franchise.
Elasmosaurus
Jurassic World Evolution 2 has ensured that there are plenty of water-based beasts for players to add to their parks as well. The Elasmosaurus is among their most terrifying and it's not just the freakishly long neck that's sure to scare visitors.
The spikes along the head of the dino seem like overkill when added to the rows upon rows of serrated teeth. Getting to 10 meters in length, the Elasmosaurus will speedily blast through the waves and strike with a level of surprise. No one could escape this creature of terror once its prey is in its powerful sights.
Triceratops
The Triceratops has been one of the best dinosaurs of the Jurassic Park franchise and indeed a regular in the Evolution series. Although not known for its viciousness, the Triceratops' power cannot be underestimated. It's built like a 12-ton tank, with an incredibly hard head often used for ramming.
It's as strong as it is beautiful, with this magnificent creature using its sharp horns to spear through an opponent. Although it's a herbivore and likely won't cause much trouble in a player's park, a stampede of Triceratops could be just as dangerous as an encounter with a predator.
Carnotaurus
Described as a "meat-eating bull," there's a lot to worry about with the Carnotaurus. Although this predator might be a lot smaller in size in comparison to other major threats in Jurassic Park, its speed is a serious danger factor — not to mention its two horns!
The beast doesn't just utilize its sharp teeth when hunting but can also take advantage of the spikes atop its head. It's a vicious-looking creature and one with a lot of power in the jaw once it clamps down on its prey. It's definitely a difficult dinosaur to outmaneuver if a keeper gets trapped in its enclosure.
Pachyrhinosaurus
When looking at a combination of power and speed, the Pachyrhinosaurus is perhaps one of the most unpredictable herbivores. Although it may look small, pound for pound it might just be one of the park's most dangerous animals thanks to its thick skull.
The Pachyrhinosaurus is known for running headfirst into danger, using its unique evolution to survive combat with other dangerous dinosaurs. It will be relatively easy for players to look after but certainly shouldn't be unleashed upon guests.
Ceratosaurus
Growing up to six meters in length and showcasing some of the traditional features expected from a predator, the Ceratosaurus is a lot larger than the Carnotaurus. It's still incredibly agile though and once again uses a horn in combat — a single blade in the middle of its head.
Its combination of speed and sheer strength, alongside its many weapons, allows the Ceratosaurus, one of 's most dangerous dinosaurs, to rise the ranks of power. If a player is to include such a creature in their park in Jurassic World Evolution 2, they best make sure the defensive systems are strong enough.
Megalosaurus
The Megalosaurus is only available in the Deluxe Edition of the title, but players will want to get their hands on the sheer ferocity of the dinosaur. As the first dinosaur ever discovered, this creature has a special place in Earth's history.
The beast was often an apex predator in its environment thanks to its height and weight, alongside its strong jaw, which could chew through unsuspecting prey. It would make short work of any park rangers who may happen to stray into its territory.
