To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the monumental Giant-Size X-Men (1975) #1 comic, Marvel is releasing a new Giant-Size X-Men series, featuring 5 one-shots, that will see the beloved Ms. Marvel travel through iconic moments in X-Men history. From the destructive Dark Phoenix Saga to the alternate reality Age of Apocalypse, this new Giant-Size X-Men series will explore the hidden mysteries and secrets of mutantkind's most infamous events.
Fan-favorite hero Ms. Marvel was revealed to be a mutant during the dying breaths of the X-Men's Krakoan Age, and has since starred in Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant and NYX, ingratiating herself among the X-Men and becoming a staple of the mutant mythos.
Giant-Size X-Men, from writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing with art by Adam Kubert, will follow Kamala Khan as she is sucked back through time by "an unhinged villain with deep ties to mutant history," forced to fight alongside the X-Men as history begins to warp. Plus, the one-shots will also feature a "Revelations Story" from Al Ewing and Sara Pichelli, that introduces a never-before-seen X-Men hero!
Ms. Marvel Will Experience The Joys And Tragedies Of Mutant History
What will be Ms. Marvel's Second Genesis?
Adam Kubert's cover for Giant-Size X-Men #1 is a beautiful adaptation of Dave Cockrum's original cover for Giant-Size X-Men (1975) #1, except Kubert's version features Kamala Khan in a major role alongside the rest of the X-Men. Dubbed "Second Genesis," the original Giant-Size was a relaunch of the X-Men franchise which made the X-Men a household name once again, and debuted iconic heroes like Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, and Nightcrawler. In many ways, Ms. Marvel, as a young Pakistani-American hero, would have been a natural addition to the diverse cultural line-up that "Second Genesis" featured.

Next Year's Big Marvel Storylines Revealed as Cable & Bishop Time-Travel to Save Mutantkind
As iconic X-Men heroes Bishop and Cable travel through time to stop a horrible foe in Timeslide, the heroes will witness the Marvel Universe's future.
In Timeslide #1, this year's preview of Marvel's plots and events, it is revealed that one event is "Ms. Marvel: Second Genesis." While it has not been confirmed, there is a chance that this is a reference to the new Giant-Size X-Men event, which will see Kamala fighting alongside the X-Men in pivotal moments throughout mutant history. Described by Lanzing and Kelly as an event that will "blow your mind and break your heart," Giant-Size X-Men will follow a mysterious villain "wreck and reassemble" key X-Men events like Dark Phoenix Saga, Age of Apocalypse, and House of M. Ewing and Pichelli was also debut an "X-Man that never was," in a story presumably featuring Revelations, the latest Heir of Apocalypse.
Kamala Khan Has Already Been Seen Alongside The X-Men In Other Realities
Ms. Marvel is cementing her permanent role in the mutant mythos
Interestingly, Giant-Size X-Men will not be the first time that Kamala has been seen fighting alongside a classic group of X-Men. In Timeslide, Ms. Marvel can be seen fighting with the Second Genesis team against Jean Grey as Dark Phoenix, hinting that Cable and Bishop may have actually stumbled into a scene from the event. With Kamala Khan a confirmed mutant in the MCU, it appears that Marvel is doing whatever it can to associate Kamala with mutantkind, a particularly direct form of "MCU synergy."
