With Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Chloë Grace Moretz at the helm, it’s easy to forget other stars that appear in Kick-Ass 2. A handful of actors appear in Kick-Ass 2 in ing roles to Justice Forever and the Toxic Mega Cunts but have long been forgotten. Likewise, since Jim Carrey reprises his role of Colonel Stars and Stripes for Kick-Ass 2, it’s easy to overlook other actors.
As a superhero movie rated R for extreme violence, it’s tough to imagine that Kick-Ass 2 is even more horrible in the comics. Chris D’Amico forms a super villain team to take revenge on Kick-Ass, and some familiar faces appear in the process. Whether already established in the industry or relative newcomers, these actors went on to bigger and better roles after appearing in Kick-Ass 2.
6 Ella Purnell
Ella Purnell’s school bully role in Kick-Ass 2 was one of her early roles, but she has blossomed into a great actress. Her role of Dolce in Kick-Ass 2 goes almost unnoticed by most viewers, but it’s memorable nonetheless as Chloë Grace Moretz’s Mindy forces Dolce and her friends to begin vomiting uncontrollably in the middle of the cafeteria. Following Kick-Ass 2, Purnell starred in Maleficent.
Purnell can be seen on Showtime’s Army of the Dead. Purnell is a rising star to be watched in the coming years.
5 Donald Faison
Long before Donald Faison played Doctor Gravity in Kick-Ass 2, he argued with Dionne in Pitch Perfect.
However, Faison’s most memorable role is Turk on Zach Braff remaining hopeful for a Scrubs reboot. With Doctor Gravity’s delusions about his abilities, the Kick-Ass 2 characters are on par with Faison’s classic characters.
4 Daniel Kaluuya
With starring roles in Judas and the Black Messiah and received the Oscar for Best ing Actor.
Before Kaluuya broke onto the big screen, he had TV roles on Kaluuya’s role in Doctor Who as Barclay is minor but leaves a lasting impact as he helps save the tenth Doctor’s life in Doctor Who season 4. Kaluuya is a force to be reckoned with as he becomes a household name.
3 John Leguizamo
John Leguizamo portrays Javier, Chris D’Amico’s aide in Kick-Ass 2, but has appeared in everything from action films to animation. From voicing a rat in Dr. Dolittle to portraying a criminal in Assault on Precinct 13, Leguizamo has a wide range of talent. In addition, Leguizamo is behind some familiar voices in movies and TV, notably Sid in the Ice Age franchise.
Disney fans may recognize Leguizamo as the voice of Bruno in Encanto 2 may have the perfect twist for the Madrigals, the family's black sheep helps save the day and rebuild the Madrigal’s home. However, it will be a feat for Encanto 2 to produce a song as catchy as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
2 Iain Glen
He may portray a likely forgotten imprisoned crime lord in Kick-Ass 2, but Iain Glen is much more. Glen played the main antagonist, Dr. Alexander Isaacs, in the The Rig as Magnus, the manager of an offshore oil rig.
However, Glen’s most notable performance is Jorah Mormont in Jorah and Lyanna Mormont are related, Jorah makes a name for himself as Daenerys’ right-hand man and defends her until his death. Glen brought emotion and life to Jorah, making his death even more devastating. Glen’s portrayal of Ralph D’Amico in Kick-Ass 2 seems like a blip on the radar of his other roles.
1 Benedict Wong
Wong’s most famous role is in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There’s a lovable yet serious nature in Wong as he just wants to do the right thing.
