How To Unlock The Secret Ending

100% Completion

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2 Remix Cover

Unlocking the game's secret ending is determined by which difficulty you choose at the beginning of the game. Each difficulty requires something different, so here is what players need to do to unlock it.

Difficulty

Ending Requirements

Beginner Mode

Players cannot unlock the secret ending in this difficulty.

Standard Mode

Players need to find all 99 Puppies, Seal every Keyhole, including 100 Acre Woods, and beat the game once more.

Proud Mode

Players will need to finish the Hades Cup and, seal every Keyhole, and finish the game once more.

This is how to get the Another Side, Another Story [deep dive] in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. You can get the regular version of the Secret Ending without completing the Hades Cup by doing everything else. In Kingdom Hearts, you need to complete the Hades Cup as well as everything in normal mode.

Alternatively, since the Remix version now features a Theater Mode DLC, players can head there directly to watch the secret ending if they don't wish to beat the game on higher difficulties. You will be able to watch both versions of the secret ending without completing all the unlocks. This is because the Secret Ending is mostly a hint or trailer for the story of Kingdom Hearts 2.

Differences Between The Endings

Separate Endings Or Extended Ones?

There are two different versions of the secret ending, one just called Another Side, Another Story, and one labeled with the [deep dive]. Both can be viewed at the theater, so if you want to unlock it in the game, you can view the other one in the theater mode. They cannot both be unlocked in the same playthrough. Depending on what you have done through the game, you will only get one or the other.

The two endings are different, despite the Deep Dive looking like an extension of the other. However, the cutscene featured in the original secret ending is not fully transferred to the Deep Dive. While some elements have been taken out and distributed between the different scenes in the Deep Dive, they are not preserved as a whole. So, if you want to see all the extra content, you must watch both secret endings in the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix.
