Kirby’s rubbery, balloon-like body helps him in this, as the recently released Kirby and the Forgotten Land saw him gobble up larger items like cars and vending machines as part of Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Mouthful Mode mechanic. However, while Kirby is never shown to lose his grip on any enemies who find their way into his stretchy, gaping mouth, it seems his foes continue to struggle before they are digested into Kirby’s newest ability.

Kirby recently returned in a big way on the Nintendo Switch with this year’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which brought the traditionally side-scrolling platformer franchise into 3D with an open world many have compared to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Additionally, more Kirby fun is on the horizon, as Nintendo recently announced Kirby's Dream Buffet, a racing/party game for the Switch that will see Kirby and his colorful friends race across giant-sized desserts to see who can eat the most strawberries.
Kirby probably won't have to worry about these strawberries breaking free when he eats them in the Kirby's Dream Buffet, unlike the living opponents he regularly devours in Kirby’s Dreamland 3.
