Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, which is planned for the HBO Max streaming service. Kevin Sussman will reprise his role as the titular Stuart Bloom, with the project also starring Lauren Lapkus and Brian Posehn, returning as Denise and Bert, respectively. But even after the individual success of Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, questions remain about whether the original series could return.

In an interview with the New York Post, Nayyar addresses the possibility of a The Big Bang Theory revival. The actor touched on a number of his recent works, including his role in Criminal: UK. But when it comes to reprising the role of Raj Koothrappali, Nayyar feels that a The Big Bang Theory revival might be too soon and jokes about why that is. Read his quote below:

“First of all, I would be game because I’d love to spend more time with people who are my family. But look, we only ended in 2019. I’m not sure you’re legally allowed to have a reunion. What? Six years after the show ends!

“I think that would obviously have to mature a little bit. Even though the show ended in 2019, it’s still on every single day, so it feels like even though the show is over, it’s still on. So I think some time would have to , and hopefully, if I’m not too old to wear a T-shirt or a sweater vest, yes, I would love to come back on.”

What Nayyar's Comments Mean For A Big Bang Theory Revival

It Won't Happen Just Yet

Part of the reason that the Stuart-centric spinoff is happening at HBO Max is that the original remains a huge hit, driving a lot of viewership on the streaming service. Depending on how the latest spinoff goes, it may be the case that some The Big Bang Theory actors could potentially reprise themselves in the planned Stuart series. Several, including Kaley Cuoco, who played Penny, expressed an openness to revisiting the series.
