Landman cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, James Jordan, Paulina Chavez, Mustafa Speaks, and Jon Hamm. The series ran weekly for 10 episodes, wrapping up the story at the beginning of this year.

Per Deadline, Landman has been officially renewed for season 2. The source noted that the series had the best Paramount+ debut in two years, citing this as a likely reason for the renewal. The exact timeline for the production schedule and release date for season 2 has yet to be announced.

What This Means For Landman

A Landman Casting Call Was Recently Posted

Beyond the ratings, there are several reasons why this season 2 renewal is unsurprising. Landman received strong reviews overall, garnering a 78% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. ScreenRant's Nick Bythrow, for example, gave the series finale 8 out of 10 stars, writing, "Strong performances are elevated by writing that helps parallel different events from earlier in the show." Bythrow also spoke highly of earlier episodes in the season, such as episode 6, which he called "riveting drama."

Even without official word from Paramount, the casting call seemed to confirm not just that season 2 was happening but that it was imminently filming.

More recently, Landman season 2 got a backdoor confirmation due to a casting call. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram put out a call for extras, citing an original posting from Legacy Castings. The report stated that the series would be filming at the end of this month, with locations in the Benbrook area of Forth Worth. Even without official word from Paramount, the casting call seemed to confirm not just that season 2 was happening but that it was imminently filming. Furthermore, Moore herself accidentally spilled that a sophomore season was happening.

Our Take On The Landman Renewal

Landman's Sophomore Season Will Hopefully Come This Year

I was expecting this news to come this week, if not sooner, given that the casting call leak seemed to confirm season 2. With Paramount+ hopping on the renewal announcement, it seems likely that season 2 could come as early as this year. Last time, the Sheridan series began production in February 2024 and wrapped in June, with a debut in November. If it follows the same pace, Landman season 2 will arrive around December 2025 or early 2026. However, given how successful it was for Paramount+, the network may sink more resources into a speedy post-production process.
