10 Zill Has An Unusual Physical Feature

While Zill May Be Off-Putting to Some, Others Find His Charm Endearing

Zill, a reoccurring non-playable character from The Legend of Zelda series, stands out as one of the most unusual characters that players can come across. Radiating endearment and energy, Zill’s most unusual defining trait is the long snot bubble that constantly dangles from his nose. What makes this fact even stranger is that he lets the snot bubble dangle on purpose, stamping him into the memories of players that encounter the hyper-inquisitive young boy.

Most notably seen in The Wind Maker, Zill eagerly follows both his older brother, Joel, and Link, who he clearly looks up to. He is a wonderful example of how the game captures its players with its whimsical nature and colorful characters, offering a bizarre, excentric, and charming experience. The Hylian is sure to stand out as one of the weirdest NPC’s in the game series.

9 Phonogram Man Is Hilariously Bitter

This Music-Loving NPC Holds A Grudge For Many Years

There aren’t many characters with a memory as long-lasting as the Phonogram Man’s. This whimsical, music-loving Hylian makes an appearance in Ocarina of Time, where he stands inside the Kakariko Windmill, attempting to compose a song inspired by the windmill's motion. When the adult Link speaks to the Phonogram Man, he comes across as bitter and angry. He recalls the past when young Link tampered with the windmill, ruining his musical flow.

However, the Phonogram Man fails to recognize that Adult Link is the same boy he holds a grudge against. His long, slightly faulty, memory makes the NPC stand out to many players, coming across as strange in attitude, action, and appearance. He eventually teaches Link the “Song of Storms,” playing it to him while angrily recounting the past. He truly is unforgettable in the game series.

8 Magda Is Highly Protective

Magda Can Show Rage When The Player Tests Her Patience

Magda is unusual solely in her behavior. After planting several flowers that surround the Hila Rao Shrine in the Floret Sandbar, she becomes highly protective of her work. She is seen regularly attending these flowers in Breath of the Wild and becomes highly aggressive if the flowers are harmed or trampled on.

Magda returns in Tears of the Kingdom, where she tends to Princess Zelda's plant sanctuary on Floret Sandbar.

If Link is to trample on Magda’s flowers more than twice, she will run into her flower arrangement and begin to shout and rant angrily about how Link has not listened to her about stepping on the flowers. Her behavior then becomes even stranger, as she attacks Link and exclaims that Link must understand the flower’s rage. This is both a hilarious and quirky interaction, making Magda one of the more peculiar NPCs in the Zelda series.

7 Oocoo Is Terrifying To Look At

This Bird-like Creature Is Unusual For Its Scary Appearance

Oocoo is unsettling to look at, with a bird-like body and a human-like head. Its piercing pink eyes also add to the unusual aesthetic. Used as a tool, she can teleport Link outside a dungeon that the player has found themselves in. She is a valuable ally, but Oocoo's creepy appearance is hard to look past. His bizarre behavior and appearance make him a shoo-in for this list.

In Link’s first interaction with Kilton, he is told about Kilton's intense love for monsters, with Kilton championing the fact that there is a better side to them. This is followed by the vendor challenging Link's love for them, and quickly exclaiming that he loves them more.
