The appearance of Alpha Pokémon is one of the new mechanics found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These frightful creatures are typically overpowered versions of standard Pokémon that roam the wilderness of Hisui. Unsuspecting players may find themselves easily defeated by Alpha Pokémon - and losing a satchel of items along, to boot - if they aren't careful. However, hunting down Alpha Pokémon can be an exciting part of Legends: Arceus. For those looking to catch all the Alpha Pokémon in the Cobalt Coastlands, here's everything to know about their locations.

Alpha Pokémon in Legends: Arceus aren't quite bosses the way frenzied Noble Pokémon are, but they do offer plenty of challenges. They're usually leveled much higher than the other Pokémon in any given area, and they're also much larger in size. Collecting every Alpha Pokémon can be a lot of fun, as long as players are prepared. Alpha Pokémon can help with Pokédex completion and catching them and using them in a party can give trainers an edge in combat. They also drop EXP items and Grit items, which are immensely helpful in powering up Pokémon quickly. Knowing the locations of Alpha Pokémoin in Legends: Arceus is key to catching them all, however.

The Cobalt Coastlands is the third area players reach in the main story of Pokémon Legends: Arceus after the Crimson Mirelands. This marks the earliest point many Water-type Pokémon are readily available in the game, and it also allows players to catch a new Hisuian Growlithe for the first time. Additionally, several important Requests take place here, including "The Sea's Legend." However, some of these aren't available until after completing this area and calming the frenzied Arcanine. Out of the myriad catchable Pokémon in the Cobalt Coastlands, 18 of them are Alpha Pokémon.

Alpha Empoleon Is Found In The Cobalt Coastlands Of Legends: Arceus

Alpha Empoleon's Location In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Alpha Empoleon may be one of the biggest draws in of available Alpha Pokémon in the Cobalt Coastlands. Empoleon has remained a popular Pokémon in the franchise since it debuted in Gen 4, and its towering Alpha form is quite impressive. To find Alpha Empoleon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will need to venture over to the Islespy Shore area of the Cobalt Coastlands by using Basculegion to ride through the water or Sneasler to climb over the mountainside. If players have Braviary unlocked already, then they can simply fly there. Wyrdeer can also be used, but players risk falling off the side of a mountain and blacking out - so this method isn't advised.

Alpha Empoleon appears at level 69, so players will want to ensure they have Pokémon on a comparable level before trying to battle and catch it. A Piplup, Empoleon's starter form, can also be found in this area of the Cobalt Coastlands. Underleveled players may want to catch a Piplup first and evolve it up to Empoleon to get Pokédex completion before attempting to take on Alpha Empoleon later.

Alpha Machoke In Cobalt Coastlands Can Help With A Legends: Arceus Request

Alpha Machoke Legends Arceus

Alpha Machoke in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is found roaming the beach in the Cobalt Coastlands. It can be found in the Castaway Shore area and is level 40, making it the lowest-level Alpha Pokémon to appear in the Cobalt Coastlands. Finding and catching an Alpha Machoke can help players with the Request, "Getting Help From Machoke," which requires them to complete Machoke's Pokédex entry in Legends: Arceus.

Fighting, catching, or even defeating Alpha Machoke can go a long way in completing its Pokédex entry for the "Getting Help From Machoke" Request. Tasks include catching and defeating this species, as well as defeating it using Psychic-type moves and watching it use Bullet Punch. Several of these tasks can be checked off after battling Alpha Machoke, so it's definitely worth tracking it down in the Cobalt Coastlands.

Alpha Dusknoir In Legends: Arceus Can Be Caught In The Cobalt Coastlands

Alpha Dusknoir Legends Arceus

Finding Alpha Dusknoir in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can be quite helpful as well. Traditionally, evolving a Dusknoir required players to trade Dusclops while it was holding a Reaper Cloth. In Legends: Arceus, this has been simplified to just using a Reaper Cloth item from a player's inventory. However, a Reaper Cloth is a rare item that will require Merit Points to obtain - unless players are lucky enough to find one in a Space-Time Distortion.

To avoid this requirement altogether, players can simply track down Alpha Dusknoir's location in the Cobalt Coastlands. The Alpha Dusknoir appears in the Deadwood Haunt area of the Cobalt Coastlands in Legends: Arceus, but it will only appear at night. Alpha Dusknoir spawns at level 65, making it the highest-level Alpha Pokémon in Cobalt Coastlands after Alpha Empoleon, so underleveled players should be careful.

However, all 18 of these Alpha Pokémon can help with completing the Pokédex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so they're definitely worth finding and catching.
