The newest Disney live-action remake, Lilo & Stitch, may not have an especially difficult time breaking even at the international box office.

Now, in just six days, Lilo & Stitch has reached two more major milestones and is already outpacing the total lifetime grosses of several other Disney live-action remakes. It has also topped the entire global box office of 2002's Lilo & Stitch, which made $273 million. Our Take On Lilo & Stitch's Box Office

It's A Much-Needed Bounce Back For Disney's Live-Action Remakes

Lilo & Stitch's box office represents a much-needed bounce-back for Disney's live-action remakes after Snow White bombed earlier this year, grossing only $205 million against its massive $240–270 million budget. While Snow White received mostly negative reviews, indicated by its 40% Rotten Tomatoes score, Lilo & Stitch's reviews have been much more positive, resulting in a 69% score. Though the artistic value of Disney's live-action remakes has always been a contentious topic, perhaps the solution is simply to make better movies.
