The Human Centipede, on the other hand, is a controversial horror film from 2009 that is infamous for its grotesque concept of surgically connecting people mouth-to-anus.

A new image shared by Marc Bernardin on Instagram combines an innocent scene from The Lion King with the horrors of The Human Centipede. The revolting result, as seen below, is guaranteed to casually anyone's childlike innocence:

The abominable image, as seen above, takes the iconic and lighthearted scene from The Lion King when Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon are walking across a log and adds a human centipede in front of them. The image was shared by Marc Bernardin, a writer and producer, who captioned the image, "No worries," in reference to "Hakuna Matata."

Is The Lion King The Next Disney Movie Due For A Horror Reimagining?

The recent trend of reimagining Disney classics as low-budget horror movies started in 2023 with the release of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, which went viral online and ended up making $5.2 million at the box office against its small $100,000 budget. In light of this success, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield began developing horror reimaginings of Peter Pan, Bambi, and even a Blood and Honey 2. A twisted retelling of Sleeping Beauty is also in the works from a different director, Louisa Warren, and is officially titled Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre.

The reason why these horror remakes of Disney movies are possible is because many of these properties now exist within the public domain. The Lion King – which was inspired by Hamlet, Biblical stories, and Bambi – could be argued as being partially within the public domain. Thus, The Lion King could be the next Disney classic reimagined as a horror movie. The potential project would provide a lot of opportunities to delve into the darker aspects of the animal kingdom, including Scar's sinister tactics, Mufasa's gruesome death, and the menacing hyenas. However, there are already enough Disney classics being reimagined as horror movies for the time being.
