Chris Evans is in talks to the Greg Berlanti attached to direct the Little Shop of Horrors remake.
Today, Taron Egerton is in talks for Little Shop of Horrors' Seymour. Steve Martin played Orin Scrivello in 1986 movie. Evans confirmed on the news on Twitter; his tweet can be seen below.
Warner Bros. is assembling a talented cast for their Little Shop of Horrors remake and Evans seems to be a good fit for the role of Orin. The actor has spoken many times about wanting to land a part in a movie musical, and Evans proved himself adept at villainous roles with Rian Johnson's Knives Out. THR describes the role as "flashy," which will give Evans a chance to branch out from his action-heavy superhero films and his earlier romantic comedies. It will also allow Evans to demonstrate his singing abilities, as Orin has a song of his own in the film, which could certainly be fun for fans. With an actor as beloved as Evans playing the sadistic dentist, Little Shop of Horrors adds some intriguing star power to the project.
The story of Little Shop of Horrors follows meek florist Seymour, who works for a shop called Skid Row Florists and is in love with his co-worker Audrey. When he discovers a unique flytrap-like plant he names Audrey II, Seymour is able to bring in more business to the struggling shop. But since the plant feeds on human blood and grows increasingly more bloodthirsty throughout the story, Seymour must figure out how to keep the plant happy - all while singing and dancing through the musical horror-comedy.
