Love Is Blind season 8's reunion celebrates five years of the show, but it fails to impress after one of the worst seasons to date. The reunion shows always have high stakes going in, as the couples from the season actually get to experience what their relationships are like when the cameras stop rolling. This can help them to grow closer, or, as is often the case, fall apart. But after only Daniel and Taylor said "I do," the reunion had to scramble to fill time.

Daniel and Taylor return after one year of marriage, and their relationship updates are positive. However, the time apart caused quite a lot of tension for the other estranged couples, as secrets came out, and people began to take sides with and against each other. It's a dramatic reunion, but compared to other seasons, things are all pretty tame.

The Best Part Of Love Is Blind Season 8's Reunion Wasn't Even The Season 8 Contestants

Daniel and Taylor were the only couple who remained together as of the Love is Blind season 8 finale. So, it tracks that they were able to stick together in the year after since the most challenging period of time together was with the cameras rolling. However, all the couples who progressed beyond the pods, and Alex and Madison, two of the season's fan-favorites, return for the reunion.

Characters who made positive impressions throughout season 8 appear to let the facade slip.

As expected, there are slightly more details revealed in the reunion, but everything is a he said/she said, with contestants bickering and taking sides. It's surprising to note that Dave, one of the villains of the season, comes out looking the most respectable, as he takes ability, offers apologies, and does not make excuses. However, how genuine all of that is remains in question, but he did a solid job of getting the spotlight off of himself.

Meanwhile, characters who made positive impressions throughout Love is Blind season 8 appear to let the facade slip, resulting in a group of unlikable people contemplating where and why their relationships broke down. While all of this added to the lore of the season, the more entertaining moments came in the form of revisiting previous seasons and celebrating five years of Love is Blind. And with the best scenes coming as flashbacks to older seasons, it doesn't bode well for the quality of the show overall.

As mentioned above, a lot of the highlights of the reunion are actually just pointing away from season 8 and the lackluster couplings it featured. In the episode's final moments, it was announced the next season will be set in Denver, Colorado, which means these couples have already gotten together and the series has been recorded. More than likely, Love is Blind has a couple more seasons left in the tank, but judging by the quality of season 8 as a whole, it feels like the series is on its last legs.

All things considered, Love is Blind season 8 was a disappointment, and the reunion reflects more of the same, with a lack of any resolutions, revelations, or real substance.

And while there was not a huge amount of drama in season 8 and its reunion, there does seem to be a disproportionate amount of vitriol among the cast. The couples that broke up appear to have created expansive gaps between themselves and turned against their former partners.
