In 2018, Kourtney Kardashian's ex-boyfriend Younes Bendjima assaulted current Love Island USA season 2 contestant Bennett Sipes. Kourtney met Younes, a high-end model, in 2016 during Paris fashion week. Younes, whom she began seeing in 2017, was the first man she'd dated since ending her nearly decade-long relationship with Scott Disick in 2015.

The KUWTK reality star and Younes were on and off again for years, with him even meeting her kids and other family on multiple occasions. Currently, they're no longer an item. While these two were rapidly switching from friends to lovers and back again, Bennett was dating social media influencer and model Sommer Ray. Sommer has 25 million followers on Instagram and rose to prominence by posting fitness clips on Vine. While Sommer was living the high life, Bennett was looking to start his own prosperous modeling and acting career, though he currently works as an executive assistant in the entertainment industry.

Bennett and Younes crossed paths at the Delilah nightclub in Los Angeles in March 2018. Bennett's girlfriend Sommer was lounging in the VIP section while chatting with celebrities Drake, Odell Beckham Jr., Younes, and their respective entourages. As reported by TMZ, Drake and his party were allegedly flirting with Sommer, angering Bennett in the process. Some words were exchanged between Bennett and the others, but nothing appeared to come of it. Later that night, however, Bennett again ran into Drake, Younes, and Odell, and things quickly got out of hand. Younes is active on Instagram. See his recent post below:

Drake and his crew exited the back door of the club, where Bennett again approached them. The security cameras captured Bennett mouthing a few words before Younes launched an assault as Drake, Odell, and the others watched. Bennett filed a police report but then abandoned the case. Months later, after several attempts at settling, he filed a lawsuit against his aggressors for physical and mental health damages. To recover, he needed months of physical therapy.

In the same month, both Younes and Bennett ended their relationships, although Younes and Kourtney Kardashian would soon get back together after a break from social media. Last week, Bennett mentioned his relationship with Sommer Ray to Kierstan during a private conversation, which left her shell-shocked. However, he has yet to mention his run-in with the A-list rapper, famed football player, and Algerian model Bendjima. Fans of the show have made the connection on Twitter, but viewers will have to wait and see if this becomes common knowledge in the Love Island USA villa.
