According to a new report, Arrow birthed The CW's shared DC superhero universe in 2012, it's become an annual tradition for the property to crossover in a multi-episode storyline inspired by some of the most famous DC comic book sagas ever (like Elseworlds and Crisis on Earth-X). These events have, if anything, only gotten bigger and more ambitious each time around, especially as the Arrowverse has continued to grow and expand.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will not only be the biggest crossover yet, but also one that promises to shake-up the franchise in huge and irreversible ways; call it DC TV's Batwoman during the five-part saga. Plus, in a long expected but still exciting development, the event will finally make The CW's Black Lightning part of the Arrowverse.

Cress Williams' Jefferson Pierce is far from the only guest star announced for Crisis on Infinite Earths at this point in time. The crossover will also include appearances by Tom Welling as Kevin Conroy as an older Bruce Wayne (neither of whom are from Earth-1, to be clear). Now, Deadline is reporting that Carter may even return as Diana Prince during the crossover.

As fans know too well, Carter has already appeared in the Arrowverse as Olivia Marsdin, an extraterrestrial who disguised herself as a human and was even President of the United States for a time on Supergirl. However, just like the Crisis on Infinite Earth guest stars announced so far, Carter's Wonder Woman would hale from an as-yet unseen part of the Arrowverse multiverse. She would also be one of several DC "legacy" actors to play a role during the crossover, along with Conroy and Burt Ward (who played Robin on the 1960s live-action Batman TV series).

Should she the event, Carter wouldn't be the only Arrowverse veteran to tackle a second role in the franchise, either. In addition to playing Ray Palmer from DC's Legends of Tomorrow (a character who was introduced on Arrow), Brandon Routh will be reprising his Superman Returns role as Tyler Hoechlin as the Man of Steel from Supergirl's earth). Really, by now, the more the merrier when it comes to actors g up for Crisis on Infinite Earths, so here's hoping Carter does just that.
