Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and the sign of the ram is known for having one of the strongest and most noticeable personalities in all of astrology. Aries signs have a tendency to be optimistic, honest, fierce, aggressive, and emotional, and they are certainly the type to stand out in a crowd.

These intense personalities don't do anything in half measure, so when it comes to something like movie characters, they either love them or hate them. So which MCU characters would Aries be able to relate to, and which would they not understand at all?

Relate To: Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter might be a normal person (relatively speaking) in a world full of unnaturally gifted humans and aliens, but she has managed to become one of the most extraordinary people in Marvel history.

A trailblazer like Peggy is extremely relatable to any Aries, because regardless of their own limitations, in their own minds, the sky is the limit. And once they've decided to achieve something they'll do it, no matter how hard.

Won't Understand: Heimdall

Heimdall in Thor Ragnarok

On the other end of that spectrum is Heimdall. This is a Marvel character that Aries wouldn't be able to relate to for a multitude of reasons, because everything he seems to cleave to goes against the instinct of a ram.

The idea of being a super powerful, omniscient Asgardian would appeal to anyone, but Aries would never understand why Heimdall spends his life guarding the Bifrost bridge and dedicates himself to someone else.

Relate To: Gamora

Gamora 2

It's no wonder Gamora is Thanos' favorite child. While she was raised under his guidance and served him dutifully, her inner spirit and sense of morality couldn't be coerced or crushed out of her, even by someone like Thanos.

Her independent streak is very much the trait of an Aries. And she might be the deadliest woman in the galaxy, but she obeys no one else's orders or edicts besides her own.

Won't Understand: Nebula

An image of Nebula in a fighting pose in Guardians of the Galaxy

Nebula is a pretty ferocious lady in her own right (clearly Thanos would accept nothing less), but her desperation for approval and her undying desire to be loved by her father is what Aries would never be able to relate to.

Yes, everyone longs for the approval of others, but Aries is not the type to stick around when anyone is mistreating them. They also tend to like themselves as they are, so they'd never endure Thanos' many "upgrades" like Nebula did.

Relate To: Wanda Maximoff

Scarlet Witch Escapes the Vision Captain America Civil War

Wanda Maximoff, better known as Scarlet Witch, is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, and that alone is enough to make her extremely appealing to any Aries.

But Aries is the first fire sign in the zodiac, which means that they are ionate and intuitive. Someone with abilities like Wanda's (that seem to be fueled by instinct and emotion) are the kind of powers that an Aries would work best with.

Won't Understand: Vision

Paul Bettany as Vision in Captain America Civil War, charging a solar beam from the mind stone in his forhead.

Those born under the sign of the ram are an incredibly emotional bunch, so while they can understand someone like Wanda because of it, they will never understand someone like Vision because of that too.

Vision might be capable of thought and something resembling emotion, but even by his own ission, he'll never truly understand humanity. His disconnect from the world of human feelings means that Aries could never relate to him.

Relate To: The Hulk

Mark Ruffalo as Hulk in the MCU

Aries can actually be incredibly intelligent, analytical, and thoughtful, but the truth is that they'd much rather be taking some kind of action than thinking things through. And as a fire sign, they have a tendency to have some of the fiercest tempers in the entire zodiac.

So it comes as no surprise that they can easily relate to a character like the Hulk, who is always angry and who would rather just smash things up instead of handling them artfully or thoughtfully.

Won't Understand: Loki

Loki holding the Tesseract in Thor

Loki is a trickster god, so he gets no greater pleasure out of life than when he has made someone else look like a fool. And while Aries may be many things, a liar is not one of them.

Aries would rather win outright, and they're exceptionally bad at hiding their true motives, so Loki's standard operating procedure does not appeal to them in the slightest.

Relate To: Tony Stark

Iron-Man-3

Tony Stark is a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, and clearly he's not particularly humble about it.

Iron Man is the most relatable Marvel hero for Aries because he is extremely proud and has zero shame in flaunting his many skills and accomplishments, but he can actually back up all of his arrogant claims too. Aries is equally proud, and equally as capable of proving themselves.

Won't Understand: Black Panther

T'Challa as the Black Panther

Aries signs are generally terrible liars, and honesty is one of the foundations of their moral comes.

So while the king of Wakanda is a job they can imagine themselves occupying, keeping their entire country a secret and withholding every amazing thing that they have to offer doesn't just conflict with their instincts, they would find it downright immoral.
