Making his debut in 1962’s The Fantastic Four #5, by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom, immediately became a staple Marvel Comics villain, with his smarts and ruthlessness putting him above all others as one of the most iconic fictional characters of all time. Already receiving multiple silver screen adaptations in 2005’s Fantastic Four, 2007’s Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer, and 2015’s Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom is poised to get another live-action iteration in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday, with RDJ’s official character design still yet to be revealed.

Forget Doctor Doom, the MCU Needs to Focus on Another Marvel Villain If It Wants to Thrive
Doctor Doom is expected to lead the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the future, but is there a villain better suited for the role? The answer is yes.
A collection of photos shot by Axel Estublier (Doom’s true power. Doctor Doom Is Coming to the MCU and His Comic-Accurate Character Design Needs To Come With It
Robert Downey Jr. Hasn’t Been Seen in Costume Yet
It remains to be seen what Robert Downey Jr.’s take on Victor von Doom will look and act like once he makes his debut in Avengers: Doomsday, but if RDJ’s recent 60th birthday invitation is anything to go on, the MCU’s version of Doctor Doom will be a mixture of something old and something new. However, with the character’s official MCU design still yet to come, fans will have to rely on the cosplay community to get their live-action Doctor Doom fix, with Cecilosaurus Cosplay (@cecilosaurus) proving that a true-to-page costume design is entirely possible in a real-world setting.
