The crown of Marvel's sexiest superhero is usually awarded to Thor, but a case can be made for Gambit to overtake him for the title. It's understandable why so many people give all the credit to Thor. Even when audiences ignore that he looks like Chris Hemsworth in live-action, comics depict Thor as a blond-haired God of Thunder who has literally been chiseled and sculpted by the gods.
Gambit has not been gifted in the same manner (although creative teams have certainly made sure to sculpt Gambit more acutely than the average man). However, what Everyone knows how hot Thor is, but Gambit's allure has enough moments that give Odin's son a run for his money.
10 Gambit Flirtis with Rogue Before They Start Dating
X-Men #4 by John Byrne, Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Joe Rosas, and Tom Orzechowski
While Rogue is not Gambit's only lover in his romantic history, they have been together for so long that most of his sexiest moments are shared with her. It's hard to think of a time when they weren't together, but before they made things official, Gambit made his interest in Rogue known to anyone who would listen. He pursued her endlessly, dating back to X-Men #4, where he asks her on a date for the first time.
The comic centers around a basketball game pitting Rogue and Wolverine against Jubilee and Gambit, and upon winning, the charming Cajun asks Rogue out as his prize. He dips her backward and the sexual tension is palpable, noted by Gambit as he corrects Jubilee's assumption that Rogue isn't interested. He's slapped away and belts a persistence that may seem questionable to some readers, but if nothing else, his physique is something to marvel at.
9 Crop Top Gambit Has Stolen Everyone's Heart
X-Men '97 (the TV series and comic books) among other comics)
2024's X-Men '97 became every Marvel fan's favorite obsession in 2024, but few elements did they obsess over more than the sight of Gambit in a crop top. He appears in the fifth episode of the television show, " It," in a dark pink Roca shirt and the out-of-costume enough enticed viewers enough to make it go viral. That being said, not all the attention was positive, as the choice of clothing became a controversial topic. Some adored it while others felt as if the outfit tainted Gambit's masculinity.
Regardless of opinions, fans and creators alike have latched on to the ambitious style of clothes for Gambit. The style has weaved its way into Gambit's attire in the comics, although it's possible to trace some comic appearances of Crop Top Gambit that pre-date X-Men '97's televised premiere.
8 Making Rogue Feel Comfortable on Their First Date
X-Men #24 by Fabian Nicieza, Andy Kubert, Bill Oakley, and Paul Becton
Sometimes, sexiness isn't something that's overt or outward. Being sexy is more than a chiseled chest, but an undying ion. Gambit displays such ion during his first date with Rogue. After several date requests, the succubus finally allows the thief to take her on a date. In the process, he steals her heart. Because of her powers, she fears kissing him could kill him, but he's patient enough to wait until they can figure out how to touch him safely. He's even willing to take the risk, but wants his new lover to try when she's comfortable without pressuring her.
In addition to the patience he displays, the artwork showcasing how the new couple are close enough to reveal how badly they want each other is like something out of an erotic novella, maybe even a Bridgerton episode. It's one of the most important moments in Rogue and Gambit's history.
7 His Unused Hellfire Gala Costume
Designed by Russell Dauterman for X-Men: Hellfire Gala (2022) #1
Although Gambit does not appear at the 2022 Hellfire Gala (which was previously an annual celebration of mutantkind held on Krakoa before its end), but the book's artist Russell Dauterman did design a costume for the card collector that was later used as a variant cover. In it, Remy sports a hooded jacket with fingerless gloves that exposes his chest and a neckline with an assortment of necklaces. The pants partially expose his pelvic area as almost a tease for what's beneath.
Gambit's costume is best described as "tough, sexy, revealing, vulnerable, and feminine" all at once. As much as his X-Men '97 crop top was controversial for accusations of being too feminine, this outfit offers the best of both worlds. Its vulnerability can be viewed as feminine, but the bravery it takes to wear something so bold would exude a masculine energy.
6 The Thought of Gambit and Rogue's Bondage Lifestyle
Uncanny Avengers #2 by Rick Remender, John Cassaday, Laura Martin, and VC's Chris Eliopoulos
Gambit still manages to be sexy without even appearing on-, because there's nothing sexier in a romantic relationship than having a healthy, active, and adventurous sex life. Gambit and Rogue have such a sex life, and the news came under the most shocking of circumstances. Rogue and the Scarlet Witch are kidnapped by assailants for the Red Skull. One of Rogue's captors - Dancing Water - is made of water, so when Dancing Water feeds Rogue a cup of water, Rogue takes the opportunity to absorb her powers as a means of escape.
She thanks her and Gambit's "kinky bondage drinking games" for preparing her for a day like this. Knowing a man is open-minded in the bedroom can sometimes be enough to add to their allure. Not everyone has the luxury of seeing a man who can be so creative and free in the bedroom, so knowing Gambit fits the bill puts another notch in his belt.
5 Welcoming of Danger
Excalibur #22 by Tini Howard, Marcus To, Erick Arciniega, VC's Ariana Maher, and Tom Muller
While in the middle of Blightspoke in Otherworld, Captain Britain makes note that just standing around in a place like that, even alongside other heroes, isn't a good move for any of them. She's right, as they're being scoped out through a sniping hole in that very moment, but the sense of danger doesn't alarm, shock, or scare Gambit. Beyond the sense of danger, the ground is leeching the lifeforce from each of the mutants, as Cap explains, but Gambit is convinced he can subside the effects with a coffee and a baguet in the morning.
He even heard about how unwelcoming Blightspoke can be for mutants, but Gambit "like it jus' find." It's hard not to find attraction in a man who not only is unafraid of danger, but welcomes it. Gambit is fully aware of the danger he got himself into, but is unafraid of every valid concern. Some may call it blind bravery, but it's hard to criticize bravery in any form. Even sexier is when he dodges a bullet at super-speed mere moments later.
4 The Rambunctious Boy
Uncanny X-Men #3 by Gail Simone, David Marquez, Matthew Wilson, and VC's Clayton Cowles
Sometimes, the sexiest thing that someone can do in a bed is just sleep. There's obviously more overtly sexy things to do in a bed shared between two people in a committed relationship. That being said, most people who have been in such a relationship will agree that the comfort of being able
to feel comfortable and safe enough to enjoy rest alongside a partner, whilst watching that partner feel just as comfortable enough to fall asleep, is a feeling unmatched.
This sincere, quiet moment between Gambit and Rogue is reminiscent to that feeling. There's also the caveat of Rogue giving Gambit the perfect nickname in her "rambunctious boy." While there could be other connotations here, Rogue is likely referring to how lethal the snake-charmer's tongue can be in reference to his boisterous charm and personality, something Marvel fans are well aware of.
3 Too Hot Even for Wolverine to Handle
X-Men #3 by Scott Williams, Tom Orzechowski, Joe Rosas, Bob Harras, and Tom DeFalco
With Wolverine being canonically bisexual ... one shouldn't be surprised if he fancies Gambit himself.
This is the first on- conversation between Gambit and Rogue, and as would be the case for future issues before their first date, Gambit's seductions compel Rogue to run off in fear that getting too close (in the literal sense) to anyone would kill them. She's visibly interested, maybe even frazzled at the thought of being so. Wolverine explains it best when he tells Gambit "double dose o' those come-hither, heart-breaker eyes o' yours ... that'll spook anyone."
It looks like even Wolverine understands just how hot Gambit is. Sure, anyone with eyes should be able to see that, but Gambit's heartbreaker eyes could be more than just an observation on Wolverine's behalf. With Wolverine being canonically bisexual (at the very least, he's probably had sex with Cyclops and Jean Grey), one shouldn't be surprised if he fancies Gambit himself.
2 Gambit Isn't Immune to a Femme Fatale
Gambit #4 by James Asmus, Clay Mann, Leonard Kirk, Seth Mann, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Cory Petit
There's a lot to praise regarding Gambit's union with Rogue, but that's not the only love interest he's had over the years. His 2012 titled series showcased Gambit while he and Rogue stopped seeing each other. He embarked on a post-superhero life away from the X-Men as a part-time teacher and part-time thief. The Gambit series features too many examples of Gambit being sexy - the series is basically a highlight reel of Gambit's sexiness, almost existing solely to showcase how sexy Gambit is - but his sexiest moments come with femme fatale Joelle.
After a handful of issues of playing cat and mouse and "will they won't they," before he even knows her name, the sexual tension simmers off the page. Because he's gentle and a natural flirt, it all culminates in a banter exchange before finally sealing it down with a kiss, all while his clothes are tattered to the point of stripping him nearly bare.
1 Picking Up Rogue on a Motorcycle
X-Men #4 by John Byrne, Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Joe Rosas, and Tom Orzechowski
Trailing back to the first time that Gambit asked Rogue out on a date, in the same issue later on, he pulls up on a motorcycle ready to ride into town with Rogue with the intention of taking her to a restaurant. Even with the X-Men following them, this would have been their first date if not for the fact that the group was attacked by a debuting Omega Red just before they touched down into town.

Love Gambit? If So, You Need to Peep the Hero's 10 Best Costumes in Marvel History
Gambit has many reputations, including as a thief and a ladies' man, but one that has perhaps been left unsaid is a reputation as a sharp dresser.
The thought of being whisked off one's feet and on to a motorcycle is sexy enough and a bonafide fantasy come true for a lot of people. The outfit for Gambit adds another caveat to the sexiness. The flick of the cigarette, the leather jacket and white tee, remnants of a war-ready fighting costume underneath, and then there's the red bandana. It's hard to see this costume and not give Gambit the sexiest Marvel man alive crown ahead of Thor.
