In the new tie-in one-shot, Doctor Doom sets his sights on Mia DiMaria - a gifted mystic just starting out in the world of the G.O.D.S. This cosmic corner of the Marvel Universe deals with the fundamental building blocks of reality, embodied in the most powerful gods in Marvel lore and the incredible beings who serve them. I will say it is absolutely a fool's errand to follow after Jonathan Hickman in a corner of the Marvel Universe that he personally invented, but G.O.D.S. are a lot of fun, and the chance to see where Mia and Wyn were after their story - and how Doom would intersect with all of it - was too alluring to let up. It's not surprising that so much of Marvel's marketing for this issue focuses on the accessibility of G.O.D.S. as a franchise. While G.O.D.S. was an ambitious and creative series, it failed to build momentum with a wide fanbase, with many blaming unclear marketing. Fans of the series had worried that due to this rocky debut, Marvel might ignore the characters and ideas set up in the original series. Now, it's clear that won't be the case, as One World Under Doom gives the characters of G.O.D.S. a new mission - taking down the one villain who always finds a way to win.
