Marvel's Deadpool VR has been announced with a new trailer, focusing on the game's combat, humorous dialogue, and intense first-person superhero action, and it's coming later this year as an exclusive title for Meta Quest 3 and 3S. The game will feature an original storyline not based on any source material. After being pulled through a portal to a world called Mojoworld, Deadpool seizes the opportunity to become really rich, signs a "sketchy contract," and then sets off across the Marvel universe on his mercenary endeavors.

In the announcement trailer from Meta Quest, Deadpool, voiced by Neil Patrick Harris, breaks the typical fourth wall, as expected from the Merc with a Mouth, and details both the game itself and how he himself is in a VR game. Created by Twisted Pixel Games and Occulus Studios, in collaboration with Marvel Games, players can expect to duel-wield pistols, swing katanas, throw kunai, and traverse the game world as Deadpool from a first-person, VR perspective.

According to the press release, developer Twisted Pixel Games took what it learned about developing VR fighter Path of the Warrior and has worked to create a unique VR experience for the iconic character. With a continually growing library exploring new creative opportunities, it may be time for some fans to consider investing in the Meta Quest 3 before Marvel's Deadpool VR launches in late 2025.

Marvel's Deadpool VR will feature several creative ways to dismember and defeat enemies, such as punching a soldier while he's holding a grenade, throwing detached limbs at other enemies, and even sticking adversaries' heads in propellers. It's violent, bloody, and very Deadpool. With so many opportunities for gameplay and story exploration, fans of crazy Deadpool lore will likely enjoy becoming him in imaginative ways.

Marvel's Deadpool VR is coming this year, so fans won't have too long to wait to get inside Deadpool's head and body (for better or worse). Deadpool seems to fully embrace his role as a VR avatar for players, judging from the trailer, even taking a jab at how Spider-Man got his Insomniac-developed titles on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, while the merc with a mouth has been consigned to a VR fate.

Marvel's Deadpool VR appears true to the character and very creatively violent. It's been 13 years since Deadpool starred in a cult classic Activision game of the same name, and it seems like this VR outing could be the most honest and realistic portrayal of Deadpool in a video game yet.
