The Beetle Billain Arc menu may have also revealed which version of the Beetle will be appearing in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and it seems to be a more recent incarnation from the comics, as one of the nine options available is called "Beetle Janice Intro". This suggests that Janice Lincoln, the daughter of the super-powered mobster Lonnie Lincoln (a.k.a.Tombstone), will be donning the mantle in the game's DLC.

Janice Lincoln's Beetle first appeared in August 2010 in the Captain America comics.

Marvel's Spider-Man saw Peter take on Tombstone and apprehend him, and by the time players were reintroduced to him in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, he was reformed and working for community service at a carnival in Coney Island. Lincoln was abducted by Kraven's hunters as part of his "Great Hunt", but was saved by Peter and a symbiote-enhanced Harry Osborn. There didn't seem to be any mention of his daughter, however, making Janice's introduction an unexpected one.

It's yet to be seen how Janice's Beetle arc ties into this storyline, or why she turns villainous after her father's reformed. Hopefully with the DLC clearly already fully mapped out, it won't be too long before Insomniac provides a first official look at this storyline in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
