Players can experience the entire story of Commander Shepard, including all DLC missions, in Lovecraft-style cosmic horror story. Shepard takes on the work of scientist Dr. Bryson to learn about Leviathan, a creature that appears capable of decimating the Reapers. This DLC requires players to do some detective work to solve the mystery of Leviathan and eventually hunt down the mysterious being in uncharted parts of the galaxy.
To start Mass Effect 3: Leviathan, Shepard will need to travel to a new part of the Citadel, which will unlock once the Commander receives a message about it from iral Hackett. Unlike many of the other Mass Effect 3 DLCs, Leviathan does not need to be completed all at once, so players can spread out the missions to fit between the main campaign if they prefer. Here's how to start the Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC.
How to Begin the Leviathan DLC in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
To start the Mass Effect 3: Omega DLC, Shepard will need to meet Dr. Bryson at his lab on the Citadel any time after Priority: Palaven. Getting to Dr. Bryson's lab is similar to getting to Anderson's Apartment for the Citadel DLC or to Dock 42 for the Omega DLC. Shepard will need to direct the Normandy to the Citadel, then choose Dr. Bryson's Lab from the list of options.
For the visits to Dr. Bryson's lab, Shepard will be required to take EDI, as her access to databases will help Shepard narrow down possible locations where they can find Dr. Bryson's partner, his daughter, and eventually Leviathan's signal. If Shepard is in a romance with Kaidan or Ashley, Liara, Tali, or Garrus, it is recommended to bring them along to any Leviathan missions that take place outside Dr. Bryson's lab, as they have some unique romance dialogue for players to experience.
While the Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC can be started or completed almost anywhere in the main story, fans often express interest in saving it as the second-to-last thing they do before Mass Effect 3's endgame. It tends to fit narratively just before starting the Citadel DLC. Some of the missions do include difficult enemies that may be more challenging at lower levels, and the lore tends to fit well ahead of the final battle.
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
