As one of Hollywood's most famous and beloved actors, Matt Damon has done more than just star in films; he's also had over a dozen genius cameos in various movies. Damon has been a working actor for over thirty years, starring in Oscar-winning hits like The Departed and Good Will Hunting, as well as major franchises like the Ocean's trilogy and the Bourne movies. His movies have grossed nearly $10 billion, though that includes several cameo roles in films like Thor: Ragnarok and Deadpool 2 and the works of his frequent collaborators, like Steven Soderbergh or Kevin Smith.

Matt Damon's best movies include some of the most iconic films of the past thirty years, yet he's maintained a humble, personable persona off-screen. Damon has a fantastic sense of humor, appearing in witty cameos where he's often the target of the joke. For example, his role in Ethan Coen's Drive-Away Dolls sees him as a devious senator, and it's only the most recent appearance in a slew of absurd, silly cameos.

15 Finding Forrester (2000)

Matt Damon returns to Gus Van Sant's set for Finding Forrester.

Matt Damon in Finding Forrester

Gus Van Sant was instrumental in launching Matt Damon's career, having directed Good Will Hunting. A few years later, as Damon had grown to become one of Hollywood's most exciting young stars, he returned to a Gus Van Sant set to cameo in Finding Forrester, a film starring Sean Connery. Given the similarities in plot to Good Will Hunting, it makes sense that Damon would appear in a ive role toward the end.

14 Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck appear as fictional versions of themselves.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck starring in Good Will Hunting 2 in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

One of the funniest cameos of Matt Damon's career sees him and Affleck appear in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back for a meta-joke about their careers. The joke puts them on the set of a fictional movie, "Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season," where they're filming a re-hashed version of the bar scene from the original. In this case, the scene ends with Will Hunting and Chuckie pulling out a shotgun and blasting the pretentious Harvard student from the first movie. As a rising star in Hollywood at the time, Damon joking about himself "selling out" is pure comedy.

13 The Third Wheel (2002)

Matt Damon appears as a despicable ex-boyfriend.

Matt Damon in The Third Wheel

Writer and star Jay Lacopo worked with Ben Affleck on a project nearly a decade prior, and that connection brought Affleck on to The Third Wheel for a ing role. With Affleck appearing in the rom-com, Damon wasn't too far away from his lifelong friend and showed up to appear in an uncredited cameo role as the character Kevin. Damon perfectly nails an unbearable ex-boyfriend character, managing to be absolutely detestable in a short window of screen time.

12 Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind (2002)

Matt Damon and Brad Pitt cameo in George Clooney's directorial debut.

Matt Damon in Confessions of a Dangrous Mind

Matt Damon lent George Clooney a hand between the first and second Ocean's movies by making a cameo appearance in his directorial debut, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He appears in the comedy/thriller film alongside Ocean's co-star Brad Pitt. Both movie stars appear next to each other on a game show called "The Dating Game," hilariously equipped with period-era hairstyles. Neither Damon nor Pitt has any lines, and they're only on-screen for a brief moment, but it makes for a fun joke as both lose the game.

11 Jersey Girl (2004)

Matt Damon makes a hilarious cameo in a Ben Affleck/Kevin Smith movie.

In another Kevin Smith movie starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon makes a brief appearance as "PR Exec." The film stars Affleck and Liv Tyler, with Jennifer Lopez in a ing role, but it also has a few hilarious cameos. Will Smith appears as a fictional version of himself, and Matt Damon shares the screen with Jason Lee. Damon and Lee appear for just over a minute, but it could be one of the best and funniest scenes in the film.

10 EuroTrip (2004)

Matt Damon appears as a tattooed punk rocker.

Matt Damon as Donny, sticking his tongue out in EuroTrip

EuroTrip is an over-the-top, 2000s, raunchy comedy centered around teenage characters, making it all the more funny that Damon would make a cameo appearance. In one of the most shockingly unrecognizable Damon cameos, he appears as a punk rocker with tattoos, piercings, and a shaved head, that steals one of the main character's girlfriends. EuroTrip's Matt Damon cameo is easily one of his funniest.

9 Ponyo (2008)

Damon has a small role in the English dub for Miyazaki's Ponyo.

While Matt Damon's appearance in Interstellar is a bit more than a cameo appearance, his arrival still shocked viewers as his casting hadn't been announced. Playing against type, Damon appears as the closest thing to a villain in the space adventure epic, playing the cowardly, despicable Dr. Mann. Damon's credibility as a star and likable personality contribute to the surprise twist that Dr. Mann isn't the revered hero other characters thought him to be.

7 Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Matt Damon makes his MCU debut in Thor: Ragnarok.

Matt Damon as an Agardian actor playing Loki, lying on the ground in Thor Ragnarok

Damon is hilarious in an awful wig, giving an overblown performance that aptly demonstrates Taika Waititi's tone.

Matt Damon may not be suiting up as a hero, but he's had a minor role in one of the best MCU movies. Toward the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok, Damon can be seen on an Asgardian stage play that mocks previous Thor and Loki battles from the MCU. In a purely comedic scene, Damon plays "Actor Loki" opposite Luke Hemsworth's "Actor Thor." Damon is hilarious in an awful wig, giving an overblown performance that aptly demonstrates Taika Waititi's tone.

While not one of Steven Soderbergh's best movies, 2018's Unsane is a fascinating experiment in horror filmmaking, shot on an iPhone. Another Ocean's reunion, Damon s his long-time collaborator for a flashback scene as a police detective giving awful advice. Again, it's a demeaning, contemptible role that's shocking for such a high-caliber movie star to take, showing Damon's immense respect for Soderbergh's art.
