The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man has become one of their most popular heroes. Peter Parker is a very strong character with firm morals and a sense of justice. This also means he surrounds himself with equally strong people. Ned and MJ are just two examples of the diverse cast of characters in the Spider-Man films.

With Spider-Man No Way Home set to premiere on December 17, 2021, it would be good for fans to revisit the returning characters. Seeing how the characters react when they aren't feeling themselves can be just as intriguing as discovering their best moments.

Adrian Toomes/The Vulture

"You Want Something To Drink? A Bourbon Or A Scotch, Or Something Like That?"

Adrian Tooms tells Peter not to mess with him in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Adrian Toomes is obviously the villain of The Vulture the best Spider-Man villain.

Peter is a threat to Toomes' lifestyle and so he is very hostile towards the hero. However, at this moment Toomes does not yet know who Peter is. He is nice and hospitable which is completely contradictory compared to the rest of his actions.

Quentin Beck/Mysterio

"Then There's Another Part Of Me That Knows What We're About To Fight, What's At Stake, And I'm Glad You're Here."

Peter's latest villain was Quentin Beck, otherwise known as Mysterio. He led Peter to believe he was a hero from another dimension when really he was a scorned man trying to steal Tony Stark's tech. He wants revenge on Tony Stark and the Avengers, and he is willing to do anything to get it.

Quentin pretends to care for Peter, but this is only so he can get the E.D.I.T.H. glasses. In reality, Quentin doesn't care about Peter and is even willing to kill him. This moment between the characters in Prague seems touching at first, but it is a lie. Quentin is only pretending to care for Peter.

Aunt May

"What The F--?!"

Aunt May closes a door while smiling in Spider-Man: Homecoming

May is often Peter's anchor throughout the films. She's taken him in and raised him as her own. She cares deeply for him and listens to him in a way that the other adults in Peter's life never do. She even grows to his avenging.

This quote from May, while hilarious, is very out of character. She is gifted in keeping her cool, like when Tony Stark suddenly decides to drop by to take Peter to . Her serene personality is often what makes it so easy for Peter to open up to her. Her sudden outburst at discovering Peter is SPider-Man is quite different from her usual personality.

Happy Hogan

"Peter, You'll Have To Tell Me What The Hell Is Going On Here."

It's clear that Spider-Man: Far From Home Happy is transitioning from being Tony's go-to guy to being Peter's. In the previous Spider-Man film Happy was not exactly fond of Peter, but, after losing Tony, he has taken over as Peter's father figure of sorts.

Happy is often a comic relief character. He rarely has a scene in which he doesn't crack a joke. Even in this scene with Peter in the Netherlands, Happy tells a story about the movies Peter rented in . However, when he sees how hurt Peter is he immediately grows serious. It's rare to see Happy in a serious mood, but it is touching.

Flash Thompson

"He [Spider-Man] Protects The Neighborhood And, You Know, He's Inspiring."

Flash Thompson looking in awe at something in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Flash is the classic school bully character. He likes to think that he is much cooler than his peers and he is constantly on Peter, calling him names and pushing him around. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Flash focuses more on Peter's lack of social standing than on Spider-Man.

This line from Spider-Man: Far From Home is a complete U-turn from how Flash usually acts. Flash tries to come off as nonchalant, but his sudden iration for Spider-Man is not that. It's interesting to see Flash portray a real emotion even if it is about a superhero.

Betty Brant

 "Yeah, It's Math."

Betty is somewhat of a smaller side character, but she gets a bigger role in Spider-Man: Far From Home when she begins dating Ned. She is fun-loving, and this only grows more prominent as she dates Ned.

Betty also does the morning announcements at their high school. The Betty in these announcements is very different from the Betty fans see with Ned. She is sharp with a witty comeback for everything her co-anchor says. She appears very annoyed during these scenes, something the audience doesn't see from her during other scenes.

Tony Stark

"If You're Nothing Without This Suit, Then You Shouldn't Have It."

Tony talking to Peter in his spider-man suit

Tony is the big name of the Spider-Man films. He is often Peter's motivation in one way or another as well as his mentor. While Tony does become very parental toward Peter, he isn't always that way.

Tony's journey to becoming a responsible adult takes many films. This quote from Spider-Man: Homecoming is strange coming from Tony. He is not known as the responsible Avenger in any way. Hearing Tony force Peter into some responsibility is very unusual at that point in the MCU and actually marked a major change for him.

Ned Leeds

"Peter, No One Wants That."

Ned is Peter's best friend and "guy in the chair." He is the ive best friend even if he is also a clumsy best friend. Ned is very sensitive and open with emotions which just so happens to land him a girlfriend before Peter.

Because Ned is such a ive friend, his line at Liz's party is quite different from his usual personality. After discovering Peter is Spider-Man, Ned has a tough time still seeing Peter as just Peter. For a while, Ned goes from being Peter's best friend to just a Spider-Man fan.

MJ

"He's Already Quit Marching Band And Robotics Club."

MJ looking confused in Spider-Man: Homecoming with a slight frown wearing a green jacket sitting in a classroom

MJ is Peter's classmate and eventual love interest. She prefers to appear distant from her classmates and doesn't seem to have any close friends. She is incredibly laidback and doesn't show many, if any, strong emotions. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter and MJ become one of the best MCU couples.

However, MJ's ittance that she knows things about Peter no one else does is very bizarre for her character. The air of nonchalance she gives off does not line up with this quote. If she really cares so little about her peers then she wouldn't know so much about Peter's extracurriculars.

Peter Parker

"None Of This Would Have Happened If You Had Just Listened To Me!"

Peter with his Spider-Man mask off in Homecoming

Peter is the young hero who is desperately trying to prove himself to the more seasoned heroes, specifically Tony Stark. He is a novice and doesn't quite know what he is doing, but that doesn't stop him from trying his absolute hardest. This resilience is one of the traits that makes Peter the most likable Spider-Man character.

Peter looks up to Tony and respects him fully. All he wants is to prove himself worthy of Tony's help. So when Peter breaks down and yells at Tony after the ferry incident, it is wildly out of character. It doesn't make sense that Peter would yell at someone when he is trying to get their approval. It is quite shocking to see the two characters fight.
