This series has seen Peter Parker and Miles Morales investigate local citizens acting strangely, not being able to separate their fantastical desires from reality. The culprit is the Arcadium, a virtual reality world crafted by Arcade and Mentallo, who trap both Spider-Men in their world to be distracted by their deepest desires. While Miles has started dating Kamala Khan. All is well in paradise until Miles' brother, Shift, infiltrates this world to save the day.

And just like that, it's Shift to the rescue - by punching a hole through Ms. Marvel. As if that wasn't a horrifying enough sight, Miles is further horrified to see that this Kamala is a robot and this entire world is fake. Before springing into action, Miles recalls that in real life, he's dating Tiana Toomes, aka Starling, and yet he's yearning for Kamala. The longer he thinks aloud about the consequences of his feelings and if he were to pursue his feelings, the more it feels like foreshadowing.

There's a good chance that in his ongoing series, Miles may proceed to explore these feelings for Ms. Marvel, and maybe even act on them. The result is likely to be some kind of love triangle, at least one where Miles has to choose between Kamala and Tiana. However, all signs seem to point toward Marvel beginning the slow build toward an actual relationship between the two premiere heroes. Readers can consider this Arcadium arc as Marvel testing the waters, gauging fan interest in a Kamala/Miles pairing. Based on fan response, there's certainly some intrigue here.

As such, the door is still open for this coupling to become a reality in Marvel's actual universe. The real challenge next would be Marvel finding a way to keep Miles as an endearing figure despite having feelings for someone else. As much as people want to see Miles and Kamala together, no one likes a cheater. There are ways to make this work without Miles Morales two-timing Starling and deterring fans, but his road to Ms. Marvel needs to be tread very delicately.
