complicated modern city of Greenfield to the incredibly detailed skyscrapers of the North American Metropolis Project, and many of them took years to finish.
With millions of monthly active players, Minecraft is one of the biggest video games in the world. It is loved by people of all ages not only for its adventure mode, but also for its endless opportunities to build and design everything with blocks, both in Survival and Creative modes. Minecraft's Creative mode in particular, with the possibility of free flying and endless resources, allows players’ imaginations to go wild, with no restrictions beyond the actual limitations of the game's engine. From redstone-controlled smart maps to pixel-perfect buildings, there is almost nothing players can't create.
Some of the Minecraft builds created throughout the years have truly been impressive. Most of them can be found online (with some Minecraft builds available to buy or to for free) so that all players can enjoy them at their own leisure. The spectacular builds are praised by the community all around the globe because they require an extraordinary attention to details and a lot of patience and time. The process of building in Minecraft can be very time-consuming, but the results can be very impressive.
Massive Minecraft Build: Kingdoms of Greymane
One of the biggest creations in Mojang's sandbox is Kingdoms of Greymane, available to purchase on Jeracraft. This is a medieval world with incredible landscapes and lots of buildings to explore, and it took seven years to complete.
Massive Minecraft Build: Herobrine's Mansion
Some of the creations are on Minecraft's survival mode, and allow the players to begin a quest following well-crafted storylines. This is the case with Herobrine's Mansion, originally published in 2012 by Hypixel. This is an amazing map with lots of rooms and epic boss fights, available to play in co-op as well as in single player mode.
Massive Minecraft Build: Cyberpunk 2077's Night City
Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is another great build, created by a group of 15 people called Elysium Fire. It took 18 months to build and, even if it is not a faithful reproduction of the Night City, it is truly an amazing creation. The map can be ed for free on Planetminecraft. The same team published a well-elaborated tribute of Novigrad, the largest city from The Witcher 3, in 2018.
Massive Minecraft Build: Midtown Manhattan
Minecraft is no stranger to having real life cities and sights built within it, like Midtown Manhattan made by the New York-lover BasVerhagen.
As stated on his profile on Planetminecraft, he started in 2013 with the Chrysler Building and built more from there, updating his creation often. This map delivers an amount of realism seen in very few New York-inspired builds in of how the city is mapped out.
Massive Minecraft Build: Los Angelcraft
The same is true with Los Angelcraft, a blocky version of Los Angeles created by Planetminecraft Florian W. with no special texture packs or mods, that offers an immersive and fun exploration of the city. It's a huge map featuring skyscrapers, piers, luxury houses, parks and gardens.
Massive Minecraft Build: Earth
Someone even built a 1:1 scale version of the Earth inside Minecraft. YouTube PippenFTS used two mods that allowed him to change the shape of Minecraft chunks in order to have more build depth and make this massive project more realistic.
Massive Minecraft Build: Westeros
The community of WesterosCraft wants to recreate Westeros, the universe imagined by George R. R. Martin in his fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire. They started in 2011 and the massive project (like the books themselves) is not quite finished yet, but people can track their progress on their website and follow the updates on their social media. The list of builds includes Winterfell, Dragonstone, Highgarden and King’s Landing.
Massive Minecraft Build: Middle Earth
Another large-scaled Minecraft project is the one carried out by Ardacraft. This server, created by Dags and Fornad in 2014, seeks to recreate J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth, exactly as described in the books of The Lord of the Ring and The Hobbit. The Minecraft server uses a mod called Conquest Reforged, which introduces a whole variety of new high quality textures, and the progress can be tracked on their website.
