One The Simpsons. Although recreating a city seems like an incredible and arduous task, it pales in comparison to some other massive Minecraft builds that players have shown off over the years.
A decade after Minecraft's release, using the blocky world to create wondrous displays has become incredibly commonplace. Minecraft players have built entire planets, cities, and massive historical landmarks on one-to-one scales. Some of these builds take many days or months to complete, and the more intrepid players complete their builds in the game's survival mode, thus risking that their creation gets destroyed by one of Minecraft's Creepers. But any successful, large-scale Minecraft build is worth recognition and praise, especially when it comes from a beloved cultural landmark like The Simpsons.
That's precisely what Reddit custom Minecraft texture pack, which allows them to make the blocks fit the color palette of The Simpsons and also changes the text font of the Minecraft menu to fit that of the show. Taking seven months to build, other players on Reddit were quite impressed by BlocksterCraft's effort.
This is one of the few times that players have seen an entire city from a cartoon get rebuilt in Minecraft, which is likely why it got such attention and praise on Reddit. Of course, Springfield is not the only recreation from a famous cartoon or game that Minecraft players have ever attempted. For instance, recreating locations from the Pokémon video game and anime series in Minecraft is incredibly common and popular. But full recreations of massive cities from Pokémon are rare to be seen.
With the help of texture packs and other mods, players continue to use Minecraft to make incredible works of art. Builds like this Springfield are impressive both for their creativity and the time put in. Perhaps, in the future, players will recreate other iconic locations from other popular cartoons like The Simpsons.
Minecraft is available on all platforms.
