MLB The Show 25 is out now, and if you're looking for the game's best hitters, look no further. Knowing who the best hitters are can help you choose a team for Franchise mode, pick cards for your Diamond Dynasty team, or just know who you might want to intentionally walk when they step up to the plate. You can't win a baseball game without at least one run, so you'll want at least one good slugger on your team.
There are some differences in MLB The Show 25 when it comes to hitting, like the new Ambush Hitting mechanic that gives you the chance to guess what pitch is about to be thrown. While you're getting the hang of these new mechanics, it might be helpful to try them out with some of the league's most skilled hitters. While multiple teams are represented on the list of best hitters, it isn't too surprising to see which show up more than once.
Best Hitters In MLB The Show 25
It's Not Surprising To See Some World Series Champs On This List
The highest-ranked hitter in MLB The Show 25, Shohei Ohtani, puts to rest the old myth that pitchers can't be good at hitting. Although Ohtani didn't pitch in 2024 due to an injury, he still had a solid outing at bat, earning a .310 batting average in the regular season. This is slightly higher than his career average, and if his .333 Spring Training average is any indication, he'll only continue getting better in the 2025 season.
The hitters with the highest OVRs in MLB The Show 25 are:
- Shohei Ohtani - 99
- Juan Soto NYM - 99
- Aaron Judge - 99
- Ketel Marte - 96
- Bobby Witt Jr. - 96
- José Ramírez - 95
- Mike Trout - 95
- Mookie Betts - 95
- Francisco Lindor - 95
- Bryce Harper - 95
Interestingly enough, although MLB The Show 25's video of the best hitters lists Ohtani first, another 99-ranked hitter, Aaron Judge, had better stats in several metrics during the 2024 season. Not only was his average higher at .322, but he also had more home runs and RBIs, despite having fewer at-bats than Ohtani. That said, Judge does have less impressive numbers at Spring Training this year, so that may factor into this decision.

MLB The Show 25 Player Ratings: Every Player With A 99 OVR
Some of MLB The Show 25's player ratings have been revealed, and the only players to score a maximum 99 OVR may or may not surprise you.
Although he had a slightly lower batting average and OPS than Ohtani or Judge, the New York Mets' Juan Soto also had a great year in 2024. Soto is also out-performing both at Spring Training, so it will be interesting to see how things change going into the 2025 season. Games like MLB The Show 25 tend to do some speculating going into the next year when it comes to rankings.
Teams With The Best Hitters
A Couple Of Teams Have Two Hitters In The Top 10
While there are several teams represented by MLB The Show 25's top hitters, a few teams managed to make the list more than once. Unsurprisingly, the 2024 World Series champion LA Dodgers have two hitters in the top ten, as do the New York Mets. Still, any of the teams represented in the top 10 are probably a good choice if you're thinking of playing MLB The Show 25's Franchise mode and want a powerful batter.
The top teams for hitters in MLB The Show 25 are:
- LA Dodgers
- New York Mets
- New York Yankees
- Arizona Diamondbacks
- Kansas City Royals
- Cleveland Guardians
- LA Angels
- Philadelphia Phillies
Although hitting isn't everything in MLB The Show 25, it's still nice to choose a team with a few good sluggers to help secure a lead. You may also want to be on the lookout for some of these players' cards in Diamond Dynasty mode. Of course, your own skill also factors into how well players hit in the game, so you can likely perform well even if you don't have a fully optimized hitting team.
