Warning: SPOILERS ahead for MobLand season 1, episode 10!MobLand season 1 ended with Harry (Tom Hardy) injured, his fate unknown as the season finale comes to a close. This cliffhanger is just one of many, with Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) getting cheered while in prison and the larger schemes Maeve (Helen Mirren) has been hiding in the background this whole time. Despite these finale hook, the series has yet to be officially renewed for season 2.
Speaking with the New York Post, Butterworth confirmed that the crew behind-the-scenes of MobLand are hopeful that season 2 will be greenlit. The executive producer explained that, as long as the series is drawing in viewers, there's no reason for them to stop making new episodes of the show. Check out what Butterworth had to say about the crime drama's potential renewal below:
I’d like this to run for as long as it fascinates and delights and stimulates an audience. If it’s doing that, then long may it continue.
What Butterworth's Statement Means For MobLand's Future
Will Season 2 Really Happen?
Although MobLand season 2 hasn't been officially confirmed yet, Butterworth seems confident in the idea of making new seasons of the show as long as it's still getting strong viewership. The series, which was originally envisioned as a Ray Donovan spinoff, has built a fascinating crime world that season 1 has only scratched the surface of. With its characters now in vastly different positions than they were at the start of the show, a possible season 2 could be a major game-changer for the core of the Harrigan and Stevenson crime families.

Every Death In MobLand's Season 1 Finale
The final episode of the first season of Paramount+'s MobLand came to an appropriately bloody conclusion, as several key characters met violent ends.
Whether every character in MobLand season 1 would show up is unclear, too, given the number of unclear fates the series has presented so far. This is especially the case for Hardy's character, since Harry has been stabbed in the chest, something that could be fatal if he doesn't get treated for the wound right away. It's unclear if season 2 will be dealing with him healing and continuing his criminal activities, or focusing on the aftermath of his potential demise. While the storyline is uncertain, Butterworth seems sure about the series continuing into the future.
Our Take On MobLand Season 2 & Beyond
The Show Has Potential For Longevity
Given the multiple cliffhangers season 1 ended on, MobLand clearly has the potential for a lengthy, multi-season story focused on its core crime families. Whether every major character will be around for a long time is unclear, especially with a star-studded cast that is likely attached to various projects in the world of TV and movies. However, the series still has plenty of popularity and potential that could keep it going on Paramount+ for quite some time, so long as it continues to draw in viewership.
