Kestodon Husks are a monster material used for crafting in Monster Hunter Rise's Torpor Sacs, Kestodon Husks are new materials added to the Sunbreak DLC.
Kestodons resemble the Pachycephalosaurus, the dinosaur with a distinctive, bony dome on its head. Like its dinosaur inspiration, Kestodons in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are herbivores but will charge players with its bony skull when threatened. Kestodons can be found in the Sandy Plains, one of the explorable regions in Monster Hunter Rise. Players looking for Kestodons should explore Area 5, on the east side of the map. As many as five Kestodons typically stay near the watering hole in Area 5. Once defeated, Kestodons can drop several items: Kestodon Scalps, Carapaces, Shells, and Husks. All of these items are used for crafting gear in Monster Hunter Rise.
Players seeking Kestodon Husks should travel to the Sandy Plains and find Kestodons throughout the map, particularly in Area 5, but also in Areas 3, 6, 11, and 12. In addition to finding them randomly, they can be a quest target obtained in the sub-camps. Unfortunately, Kestodon Husks cannot be found from any other beast, so players need to grind in the Sandy Plains to find this crafting item.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - How To Get Kestodon Husks
To find Kestodon Husks in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, players need to find and defeat Master Rank Kestodons; anything less than a Master Rank will not drop the Kestodon Husks. To unlock Master Rank quests, players need to unlock the Sunbreak content and open up the Elgado Outpost, one of the new regions in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Once at Master Rank, Kestodons will drop Husks with a 70% drop rate. When fighting the Kestodon, players should watch out for the charging headbutt; otherwise, this is a relatively simple monster to defeat.
