Monster Hunter Wilds fans are being blocked from making main story progression, thanks to another bug. Monster Hunter Wilds has had a bit of a rocky start, as several major bugs, crashing issues, and more have been hindering player progress. Luckily, Capcom seems to be on the ball by sending out hotfixes one after the other.

Today, Capcom posted via the official Monster Hunter Status X page that another major bug has been discovered. This time around, the bug revolves around an NPC not appearing during Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A, called A World Turned Upside Down. This disables story progress, Capcom says, as the NPC is needed to continue the questline.

Capcom Is Investigating The Issue At This Time

Monster Hunter Wilds players are reporting that the NPC in question is simply not spawning in when they should, which in turn means they cannot continue the main story quests. At the time of writing, Capcom has not stated when they believe this issue will be resolved, but hotfixes for previous bugs are being sent out. Yesterday, two major glitches were discovered in-game. This includes the Smithy not functioning properly and the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not working as intended.

Monster Hunter Wilds launched today with mixed reviews pouring in after PC players were plagued with issues, but Capcom has responded.

Luckily, Capcom did post via social media that the issues with the Smithy have since been hotfixed on all platforms. The "Grill a Meal" and the "Ingredient Center" bugs are still being worked on, with no further updates from the devs.

The Reviews Keep Rolling In

While Monster Hunter Wilds has had its fair share of bugs and crashing issues, that hasn't stopped the title from breaking records on Steam. Reaching well over 1 million concurrent players, with a peak count of 1.38 million, it seems that even with the glitches and bugs, players can't get enough of the game. Even so, the comments on the X posts are filled with players begging for optimization fixes for PC and a way to stop the game from crashing every few minutes.

While not everyone is experiencing issues, the vast majority of players have been plagued by these bugs since diving in. Hopefully, with Capcom tossing hotfixes out fairly consistently, everything will be resolved soon --- and we can get back to hacking and slashing monsters to bits.
