There have been plenty of fantastic and entertaining series in 2022, with many more excellent and highly anticipated TV shows to look forward to in 2023. The golden era of television may have waned a bit, but there are a plethora of engaging, well-made and memorable TV shows that have debuted over the last few years. Looking ahead to 2023, streaming services show no sign of slowing down, bringing viewers new seasons of beloved shows like Ted Lasso and The Mandalorian, while also debuting a slew of brand-new series that are sure to excite.

Television production faced a number of delays during the height of the pandemic, but it has since bounced back. The new year promises the Yellowjackets season 2, the next year is packed in the best way.

26. Masters of the Air

Based on the true story detailed in Masters Of The Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi by Donald L. Miller, Masters of the Air follows the Eighth Air Force as they fight for their lives against German soldiers during World War II. The miniseries is executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and stars Elvis’ Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Freddy Carter, and Nate Mann. Masters of the Air will premiere on Apple TV+ at some point in 2023.

White House Plumbers tells the story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect. The HBO series is set to debut in March 2023 on HBO, and stars Woody Harrelson as Hunt, Justin Theroux as Liddy, Domhnall Gleeson, Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey, and Kiernan Shipka.

24. The Palace

After starring in Mare of Easttown, Kate Winslet returns to HBO in The Palace, which is set inside a palace over the course of a year during the deterioration of an authoritative regime. There isn’t too much known about the HBO miniseries' plot, but Winslet will be ed by Hugh Grant, who had a cameo appearance in Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. A release date has not been announced yet for The Palace, but it’s expected to premiere on HBO in 2023.

23. Tiny Beautiful Things

Adapted from the book of the same name by Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things follows Clare (Kathryn Hahn), a writer whose marriage is struggling and whose relationship with teenage daughter Rae is distant. Clare, whose writing career is floundering, becomes an advice columnist and it affects her life far more than she ever thought it would. Tiny Beautiful Things was picked up by Hulu and will premiere on the streaming service in Spring 2023.

22. Shrinking

Starring How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segel, Shrinking follows Jimmy Johns, a therapist dealing with grief who decides to tell his patients what he really thinks about them and their issues. Shrinking also stars Harrison Ford and Jessica Williams. The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 27, 2023.

21. Citadel

Created by The Russo Brothers and Patrick Moran, Citadel is an experimental spy thriller that will have a few spinoffs set in the same universe and featuring different countries, including India and Mexico. The Prime Video series will follow Citadel agents Mason Kane (Game of Thrones star Richard Madden) and Nadia Singh (Priyanka Chopra), but plot details are being kept under wraps. The series is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2023, though it does not have an official release date.

After deciding to stay in Sherman Oaks for her senior year, Devi almost makes a big decision regarding her romantic life that will surely be explored further in Never Have I Ever season 4. The fourth season has been confirmed as the series’ last, and will premiere on Netflix at some point in 2023, likely in the spring or summer. Never Have I Ever season 4 will see the return of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, Darren Barnet as Paxton Hall-Yoshida, Jaren Lewison as Ben Gross, and Poorna Jagannathan as Devi’s mother Nalini. Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young will also reprise their roles in Never Have I Ever’s final season.

19. Ironheart

First introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams, a 19-year-old MIT student and tech inventor a la Princess Shuri, is getting her own series with Ironheart. The Disney+ series will likely be set after Riri returns from Wakanda, though specific plot details are yet unknown. Ironheart will consist of six episodes and also co-star Anthony Ramos of Hamilton fame. The series will debut on Disney+ in the back half of 2023.

18. Daisy Jones and the Six

Based on the book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones and the Six is a documentary-style series that follows a fictitious rock band in the 1970s, their rise to fame, and their eventual split. Starring Riley Keough, Camila Morrone, Sam Claflin, and Suki Waterhouse, Daisy Jones and the Six consists of ten episodes and will premiere on Prime Video March 3, 2023.

17. The Three-Body Problem

The Three-Body Problem, the long-awaited Netflix series, is based on the popular trilogy by Chinese author Cixin Liu. Developed for television by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, alongside Alexander Woo, The Three-Body Problem follows humanity’s first with an alien civilization, while also focusing on the smaller ripple effects from the Chinese Cultural Revolution and its impact on the bigger picture. The Netflix series, which arrives at a yet-to-be-determined date in 2023, stars Benedict Wong, Eiza González, John Bradley, Tsai Chin, and Babylon’s Jovan Adepo.
