Warning! Spoilers ahead for Ms. Marvel.
Through Avengers: Endgame defeated Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his minions, guaranteeing the Sacred Timeline was forever free from the Mad Titan's threat.
Iron Man's death marked the end of the Infinity Saga for the MCU, and the franchise is moving forward in Phase 4 with a brand new storytelling chapter. Marvel Studios has been busy laying the groundwork for the universe's next overarching narrative by focusing both on its remaining heroes and introducing new ones, including Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Jersey City native who gets her own superpowers like her Avenger idols. Given Kamala's obsession with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Ms. Marvel has included meta-references to the wider MCU within its own story. However, Ms. Marvel also contains one unexpected connection to Iron Man with the involvement of the Department of Damage Control — an organization created by Tony after the Battle of New York.
The Department of Damage Control first appeared in Iron Man 2. Pepper should have known that she should immediately make moves to get those drones back before they could be used for more sinister things.
What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time that Pepper failed to protect Iron Man's legacy since his ing in Avengers: Endgame. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Pepper doesn't help Peter Parker (Tom Holland) at all. With one phone call, she could have solved most of the young hero's woes. Pepper could have vouched for him as he got framed for the death of Mysterio, and she could have also reached out to MIT to back up Peter's college application. Given Tony's close relationship with Peter, there is no doubt that he would have done everything to help his mentee if he had been around. And while Marvel Studios is well aware that bringing Paltrow back to the MCU after Avengers: Endgame would be a tall order, she doesn't need to physically appear to establish her continued presence in the MCU. She could have been referenced in Spider-Man: No Way Home with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) serving as her representative to tackle Peter's situation.
Luckily, Pepper still has time to redeem herself in Ms. Marvel. After news gets out that Damage Control is using Stark Tech to hunt down a young hero, she could step up and actively work to re-acquire the drones that they are using. She could also thoroughly re-evaluate the organization and its activities - since it was created by Iron Man anyway.
