Jamie Lee Curtis might star in a remake of one of the most iconic murder mystery shows of all time. Though she got her start on television in 1977, Curtis' first notable role was playing Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's Halloween in 1978. This iconic part made the actor an instant scream queen, and she would go on to play key roles in horror films such as The Fog and Prom Night. She also reprised her role as Laurie five years after the original Halloween in 1981's sequel.

Curtis' roles have matured over the years. She recently played the short-tempered and easily rattled Donna Berzatto on the hit TV series The Bear, for which she won an award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. The 2020s have also seen Curtis' first Academy Award nomination and win, which came for her ing role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. As the years have ed, people have come to appreciate Curtis as an actor more and more, and it looks like there is another exciting opportunity coming for her.

Our Take On The Prospective Murder, She Wrote Casting

Curtis Is Beloved Enough For The Remake To Work

Lansbury's version of Murder, She Wrote's Jessica Fletcher has become so beloved over the course of the last few decades, making it hard to top. Of the actors who have the ability to take on this role, however, Curtis is one of the best suited for the task. Not only does she have relatively recent visibility in the whodunnit genre through her Knives Out role, but she has also reached iconic status over the years. I think the best actor to replace a venerated actor is one held up on a similar pedestal, and Curtis is arguably so.
