Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Murderbot season 1, episode 5.PreservationAux found Leebeebee (Anna Konkle), the only survivor of the DeltFall survey, in end of Murderbot episode 4, and Gurathin (David Dastmalchian) discovered its hacked governor module while repairing the SecUnit. A lot of bad came from the trip to DeltFall, but Murderbot may be hiding another negative consequence of the rescue mission.

After Murderbot shot itself in the chest, the of PreservationAux found one of the survivors of the DeltFall massacre. Leebeebee recounted some bits and pieces of the incident, and she confirmed that DeltFall's SecUnits went rogue and killed everyone in the facility. Leebeebee isn't in The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells - the books Murderbot is based on - so her future story isn't really clear yet. Because of that change from the original story, I feel confident that Leebeebee is hiding something, and I think she could pose a huge threat to PreservationAux and Murderbot.

Leebeebee’s Backstory As An Indentured Servant For DeltFall Seems Very Suspicious

Leebeebee's Story Is Way Too Convenient & She's Being Way Too Weird Around Murderbot

Anna Konkle looking curious in Murderbot

In Leebeebee's first episode, she already gave me a lot of reason to be wary of her. Firstly, her backstory doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. Leebeebee claimed to be an indentured servant of DeltFall and didn't have much information about what they were doing, but that seemed like a lie meant to prevent PreservationAux from asking more questions. She also outright ignored both Arada (Tattiawna Jones) and Murderbot when they pointed out her odd behavior, like talking about Murderbot's genitals and staring at it. It also just doesn't make sense that DeltFall would bring an indentured servant just to perform maintenance and do laundry.

On top of Leebeebee's flimsy backstory, there's also the fact that a single survivor of the DeltFall massacre already sounds odd. Everyone else at DeltFall was dead at least before PresAux left their habitat, and the SecUnits should have found her before PresAux arrived. Her whole personality is off-putting, as well. Leebeebee immediately started sexualizing the agender and asexual Murderbot, and she even tried to kiss the SecUnit later on. Some of that can be attributed to shock, but all together, it paints a picture of Leebeebee being much stranger than she seems.

Being strange is one thing - most of the characters in Murderbot are odd - but Leebeebee has also been acting outright suspicious. After PreservationAux got Murderbot back to their habitat and started repairing it, Leebeebee was weirdly adamant that they kill it before PresAux could undo the combat override module. She even had a strange moment with Gurathin where she was trying to figure out what PreservationAux was up to and what they had discovered on their survey. Compared to Leebeebee, Gurathin is starting to look like a hero of Murderbot.

I'm Convinced Leebeebee Is Secretly Working For The Villains In Murderbot

I Think Leebeebee Was Left Behind At DeltFall To Infiltrate PreservationAux

All those strange pieces of Leebeebee's character seem to add up to a simple conclusion: she isn't really a survivor of the DeltFall massacre. I'm convinced that Leebeebee is working with whoever killed DeltFall, and that she's masquerading as one of them to infiltrate PreservationAux and kill them too. If that's what Murderbot has in store for her, then all of her weird quirks make sense: she's trying to hide her lack of knowledge about DeltFall because she doesn't have any, and she's fascinated by Murderbot because it was supposed to help her kill PreservationAux, but it tried to kill itself instead.

The idea that Leebeebee could be a villain in Murderbot makes even more sense with Murderbot and Mensah's (Noma Dumezweni) later conversation in mind. Mensah and Murderbot decided that someone likely infiltrated DeltFall by claiming to be PreservationAux, and with that access, they let in the rogue SecUnit and took control of the ones already there. Leebeebee could be doing exactly that with PreservationAux: claiming to be DeltFall so she can earn their trust and smuggle in another SecUnit to get them all killed. I'm convinced Leebeebee is a villain in Murderbot, and I truly hope PreservationAux and Murderbot watch their backs around her.
