Since the Murderbot Diaries books are so layered and heartfelt, Murderbot had a difficult time finding the right actors to play such complicated characters. Luckily, Apple TV+'s show brought together a star-studded cast of character actors and leading talent. Because of the actors involved, Murderbot is one of the better book adaptations in recent memory, and each of the show's characters feel fully realized. That has helped Murderbot achieve a rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes after the first 15 reviews, so the cast is worth getting to know.

Alexander Skarsgård as Murderbot

Actor: Alexander Skarsgård was born in Stockholm, Sweden, to famous actor Stellan Skarsgård. David Dastmalchian as Gurathin

Character: David Dastmalchian plays Gurathin in Murderbot. Gurathin is an augmented human, meaning he can use his brain to directly interact with digital systems, though not to the same extent as a SecUnit can. Gurathin is immediately suspicious of Murderbot after it rescued some of his friends, and his suspicions cause some problems for PreservationAux.

Character: Tamara Podemski plays Bharadwaj in Murderbot. Bharadwaj is a geological chemist working on the PreservationAux team, and she is attacked by a monster known as "the animal" in the first episode. Bharadwaj's attack causes Murderbot to save her and remove its helmet, setting off the events of the show.
