This week, Netflix is leaving horror aside to make way for a post-apocalyptic comedy-drama series, a biographical comedy, and the first part of the final season of an adult animated series. Something that keeps Netflix afloat amidst the streaming wars is that it keeps adding new content to its catalogue every week – and it brings a bit of everything for every taste.

October has seen the arrival of horror series (like the second season of Haunted), thrillers like Living With Yourself. All that along with licensed content because it’s always nice to revisit some old titles (or watch them for the first time).

On the licensed content front, Netflix s can now enjoy the crime drama Free Fire, the comedy drama I’ll See You In My Dreams, and the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, right on time for Halloween. As for original content, this week is a bit more diverse, with a group of teenagers in a post-apocalyptic world, a self-loathing horse preparing for his last season, and the return of Eddie Murphy. Here are the best TV shows and movies coming to Netflix this weekend - October 25.

Daybreak

The cast of Daybreak Season 1 Netflix

Teenagers in a post-apocalyptic world is one of the most commonly used topics in the last years, but most of them have successfully survived without ending up being a copy of each other. Daybreak is based on the comic series of the same name by Brian Ralph, and stars Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sophie Simnett, Krysta Rodriguez, Cody Kearsley, and Matthew Broderick.

BoJack Horseman - season 6, part 1

BoJack Horseman Season 6 Netflix

The longest-running animated sitcom on Netflix is coming to an end in two parts, and the first one will be available to watch this weekend. BoJack Horseman for a bit longer.

Dolemite Is My Name

Eddie Murphy in Dolemite Is My Name

Eddie Murphy hasn’t been inactive but his popularity has certainly declined – but he’s ready to come back in full force with Tituss Burgess, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Wesley Snipes, Snoop Dogg (for real), and more. The movie has already received good reviews, mostly praising Murphy’s performance in what many are calling a successful comeback. A good option to watch this weekend.
