Scorpio rules the psychic and emotional realms, making them quite a demanding audience. As water signs, they are incredibly intuitive and sensitive, but they hide it under a cold exterior. The only thing that gives them away is their intense stare. When that stare is glued to the television screen, it's fixated on TV shows that have to do with mystery, murder, and complex interpersonal relationships.
Shows that rely on overused tropes, fantasy, and cheap humor will leave Scorpios furious. But, when a TV show matches the intense emotions, raging deep inside their souls, they will consume it within days. They want to sit at the edge of their seats and ball their eyes out. Here are the dos and don't for Scorpios when navigating through Netflix.
Love: Get Even
The premise of Get Even is similar to Pretty Little Liars. The main characters are high school students who form a group to expose bullies only to end up being framed for a murder.
Scorpios are the kind of people who love mystery thrillers and girl power. Each character brings something unique to the story. The plot has a lot of twists and turns, making Get Even extremely binge-able. Unfortunately, there is only one season out so far.
Hate: The Umbrella Academy
Even though superhero stories seem to have massive amounts of fans, Scorpios are typically not the ones to watch The Umbrella Academy.
This series is largely based on comic books. A bizarre group of superhero siblings, known as The Umbrella Academy, bands up together after years of estrangement to solve the mystery behind their father's death and to save the world. They have to put their personal conflicts aside and start working as a team. It's a show more fitting for air signs.
Love: Dark
Set in a German town, season three finale left some questions unanswered.
Hate: The Crown
The Crown revolves around the British monarch's life and examines it from various perspectives: her triumphs and struggles as a sovereign, a wife, and a sister. It's a delightful show to watch for those who are interested in fashion, as it features many outstanding outfits and emphasizes fashion. To a large extent, it indulges in historical revisionism and politics, topics that would sooner intrigue earth signs rather than emotional water signs.
Of all the plotlines in The Crown, Scorpio would most enjoy the complicated relationship between Elizabeth and her sister Margaret. But, since so much of the story tackles realistic international affairs and prime ministers, it's not the best fit for Scorpios.
Love: Killing Eve
It's a comedy, a thriller and a drama all at once: the greatest female characters on TV, Eve is an MI5 spy who is unhappy with her sedentary job. That is until she is tasked with finding Villanelle, a psychopathic killer. It sounds pretty intense, but it's actually surprisingly light-hearted and comical.
No stranger to possessive relationships and unhealthy fixations, Scorpio will be drawn in by the two incredibly smart women and will definitely have a laugh or two while watching the three seasons that were released so far.
Hate: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Fans love Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt because it's funny and uncomplicated, but Scorpios would, unfortunately, find it painfully boring. Scorpios are complicated creatures who don't enjoy simple, one-dimensional characters and jokes.
The only truly unique thing about this show is its premise: for 15 years, Kimmy had been held captive by a cult. When she finally re-enters real-life and settles in NYC, she faces all kinds of challenges. She finds a friend in Titus, a wannabe Broadway star.
Love: Unsolved Mysteries
The legendary series Unsolved Mysteries is back. The docies brings the viewers face to face with ordinary people who have suffered trauma, related to something that is yet to be explained. Be it a disappearance of a family member or paranormal activities, these people re-live their past in hopes to get some answers. The series brings in investigative journalists, sheriffs, witnesses, and other individuals who then attempt to solve the mystery in question.
Scorpios live and breathe for creepy stories. Through other people's pain and trauma, they contemplate the very nature of life and death, the themes that the eighth sign of the zodiac proudly represents.
Hate: Sex Education
Sex Education's heavy reliance on high school stereotypes and the 80s aesthetic makes for a fun watch, but not if one cannot stomach such clichés. Sex Education is mostly about Otis, an average, invisible boy who falls in love with a complicated, cigarette-smoking rebel, Maeve.
The TV show's attempt at opening a dialogue about LGBT rights, bullying, and sex might be refreshing, but it's unfortunately dealt with in a relatively shallow manner. Scorpios crave in-depth analysis of characters and struggle to enjoy stories that don't deliver emotional complexity they themselves possess.
Love: BoJack Horseman
Speaking of in-depth analysis of characters and emotions, BoJack Horseman tackles several real-life issues: narcissism, depression, codependency, and substance abuse. However, that doesn't mean it's just sad and depressing. This cartoon manages to be humorous, heart-warming, and insanely clever all at the same time.
From running gags to brutal kicks in the gut, BoJack and his friends will take Scorpios on an emotionally intense journey that will hit them right in the feels.
Hate: Peaky Blinders
Peaky Blinders is set in post-WWI Birmingham, and it's about the lives of Peaky Blinders, a family of gangsters that takes advantage of the general social unrest to gain power and wealth. At first glance, it has it all: thrill, romance, crime, and drama.
The main character is Tommy, a brooding character with Scorpio traits. Scorpio natives might find his moody and tormented soul unnerving—after all, Scorpios carry enough sorrow in their own hearts as it is, so they will have little comion left for Tommy and his gang.
