Warning: SPOILERS for Justice League Unlimited #7The newest incarnation of the Justice League has made its shocking debut, and fans of DC history are in for a treat, with the new roster collecting some of the most iconic, cult-status, and fan-favorite superheroes from across time and reality.
Building towards a cosmic crossover as DC goes "All-In" on its biggest properties, the new issue of Justice League Unlimited sees the heroes finally turn the fight back against the Legion of Doom. But not in any wayy either readers or the heroes themselves expect, with an accidental twist summoning a new League through time and the Multiverse, recruiting Batman Beyond Terry McGinnis, Zero Year Batman, the one-handed Aquaman, Jonah Hex, and more.
The surprise arrival of this new incarnation of the titular Justice League Unlimited certainly proves the name true, while making the new green-suited hero Air Wave one of the most important in the DC pantheon. Not only is the surprise roster the only hope for victory, but a tease of even more incredible crossovers to come as the series builds towards DC's epic "We Are Yesterday" climax. And with Terry McGinnis now back in the fight, how long can fans expect him to stay?
Batman Beyond Returns As Part of The New Justice League Roster
Justice League Unlimited #7 by Mark Waid, Travis Moore, Tamra Bonvillain
While making his debut in the Batman Beyond animated series, Terry McGinnis has enjoyed more than one translation into the main canon of the DC Comics universe. While most of these have involved giving Terry and old Bruce Wayne their own stories, larger events across the DC timeline like Futures End have been even bolder. This surprise twist in Justice Liague Unlimited is certainly a case of the latter, pulling the future version of Batman into the fight in the here and now, to save the very future in which he is created.

DC Finally Names Its Most Invulnerable Hero and No, It's Definitely Not Superman
When the Legion of Doom strikes against the Justice League, only one hero is left standing, and it’s not Superman, but surprisingly [SPOILER].
The wildest part of this twist is that it's completely unintentional. Having had his powers weaponized by the resurrected Legion of Doom to scatter the League across time and space, Air Wave tries to reverse the attack. But as Air Wave seeks to return everyone back to their rightful place, his plan goes sideways. Losing control, Air Wave instead pulls an all-star crew of DC heroes into the present day: Bruce Wayne from Batman: Zero Year, the future Batman Beyond, the cowboy Jonah Hex, Aquaman during his one-handed '90s era, and the Green Lantern Abin Sur.
Even More Fan-Favorite DC Heroes Will Return For One Final Battle
Electric Superman, Young Barry Allen, and More Will The Fight Next
The final page reveal of this new roster of the Justice League Unlimited is guauranteed to thrill fans, but it is only the beginning. Having extended its hip to more DC heroes than ever before, the new Justice League will soon be spreading to heroes from across different eras of history, alternate realities, and possibly even Multiverse variants thought to be non-canonical. And if Air Wave isn't able to pull the correct heroes back into the present day, then recruiting all known versions of these DC heroes together at once could be his only option.
Dan Mora's artwork for the larger "We Are Yesterday" event alone confirms the coming of Year One Barry Allen, the electric-powered Superman, multiple Robins, and more. So while it's still unknown of any of these heroes or variants will be spending time in the main DC universe once the fighting is over, Batman Beyond fans can start celebrating the caliber of hero who earned a place at the front of the line.
