Warning: spoilers for Batman: Urban Legends #5 are ahead.

Dick Grayson's derrière has become a conspicuous part of his appearance in comics. In some cases, his butt has even been tied to actual plot points in stories, with a new installment of the ongoing Batman: Urban Legends anthology series being the latest in this area.

In part five of "The Long Con" story in Batman: Urban Legends #5, Nightwing and Batman come to the aid of Grifter, who unbeknownst to them, was planning to force Lucius Fox into ing some of Batman's most important files on behalf of a criminal organization called Leviathan (written by Matthew Rosenberg, art by Ryan Benjamin, colors by Antonio Fabela, and letters by Saida Temofonte). This is made more complicated by the fact that Grifter is working secretly to take down Leviathan with the help of a  communicating with him through an earpiece. When Batman and Nightwing s up with him, the offers to throw in an extra bounty if he is able to seduce "the dude in the leotard with the great @?$." Grifter refuses.

As likable as Nightwing is, Grifter is not a fan. Earlier in the story, Grifter had made fun of Nightwing by first calling him a "goth gymnast," and then accusing him of "dressing like an ice dancer." Given that Grifter wears a blue sweatshirt, red sneakers, and a fabric mask that hangs loosely on his face, it is clear that Dick Grayson looks far better on the job than Cole Cash does. The animosity that Grifter has towards Nightwing is made funnier by the fact that Dick still cared enough to check if Cole was still alive after he fell several stories out of a window.

This is far from the only time that Nightwing's butt has come up in conversation in DC Comics. On one occasion, Midnighter was able to recognize Dick Grayson from his backside alone in Grayson #6 by Tim Seeley, Tom King, Mikel Janín, Jeromy Cox, and Carlos M. Mangual. What makes Nightwing's butt an amusing recurring joke is the fact that it has persisted across different stories in DC Comics, brought to life by an array of writers and artists, who have all committed themselves to this narrative. Dick Grayson already has a great personality and a fantastic character arc, so if there is anyone deserving of a great butt, it's Nightwing.
