With the Nintendo Switch 2 now less than two weeks away from launch, it's rumored a Nintendo Direct may be coming soon. The most recent full Direct, which was focused on the Switch 2's announcement, took place early April, with a Mario Kart World-focused Direct following on April 17.

According to journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, who made the claim during a livestream this past weekend, Nintendo could be holding another Nintendo Direct around the console's launch on June 5 (via VGC).

Allegedly, the Nintendo Direct could happen this week or next week. No information has been provided about what could be shown. It remains to be seen if this alleged Nintendo Direct will happen, but given the source's reputation and Nintendo's history with its presentation timings and format, it seems like a safe bet.

How Credible Is This Leak?

Nothing Is Concrete, But It Seems Likely

Lippe has previously shared accurate information about Nintendo’s plans. He correctly revealed that the Switch 2 would be revealed in 2025, when several leaks and rumors were pointing towards an end-of-the-year 2024 launch. Additionally, Nintendo has had at least one June Nintendo Direct almost every year since 2011. As far as what could be shown at the event, that part is still a mystery, but with the looming launch of the console, it could be focused on Switch 2 hardware, Mario Kart World again, or Donkey Kong Bananza, which releases July 11.

Nintendo hosting a livestream event near a console's release would be far from unprecedented. It's almost expected at this point.
