Goichi “Suda 51” Suda of No More Heroes 3 is the final chapter in the story of otaku-fratboy-turned-assassin Travis Touchdown, leaving many fans to wonder what Suda 51 has planned for his next off-the-wall action game.

Meanwhile, Marvel has seen a resurgence in the world of video games over the past few years, thanks to polished titles like Insomniac’s Spider-Man series or Crystal Dynamic’s recently announced Marvel: Midnight Suns indicate that this trend isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Naturally, several noted video game developers have since weighed in on what Marvel heroes they would love to make a game for, like God Of War director Cory Balrog wishing for a Hawkeye title or Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann dreaming of a Ghost Rider or Punisher project.

According to VGC, Suda 51 recently sat down for a livestream interview with IGN Japan to discuss the future of Grasshopper Manufacturer now that the No More Heroes series is over. “The broad answer is we already have a lot of products that are in development,” Suda 51 replied via a translator, stating that his development team has no less than three new IPs planned out for the next ten years. When asked what kind of existing IPs he would like to work on, Suda revealed that he would be interested in teaming up with Marvel for a game based on Shatterstar or Deadpool game.

Marvel’s ever-popular Merc With A Mouth has seen plenty of love from video games over the years, with Wade Wilson making memorable guest appearances in everything from the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series to Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Deadpool also entered the fighting genre in 2011's Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, served as the final boss in the tie-in game for his infamously-reviled appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and had a far better received and true-to-character Deadpool game of his own in 2013.

With Deadpool as popular as ever (and Wade’s MCU debut in the currently-in-production Deadpool 3 just around the corner), the timing could be just right for a new game based around the Merc With Mouth. Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacturer would be a great fit for this hypothetical title as well, given that the No More Heroes series put players in the role of a wise-cracking, fourth-wall-breaking ultraviolent anti-hero in Travis Touchdown. However, given that Suda has at least three new gaming franchises in the pipeline over the next decade, both he and fans might have to wait for his dream Deadpool game – should it ever happen at all.
