The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered was only released yesterday, and it doesn't have mod yet, but this hasn't deterred the modding community. The remake of the classic 2005 Elder Scrolls title makes the game accessible for both long-time fans of the fantasy RPG and newcomers to the series. It's also made the game available for modders to transform it into whatever their hearts desire, which they've immediately set out to do.
Although Bethesda is well-known for being modder-friendly, the studio's latest title does not have mod at launch. According to the official Bethesda website, "Mods are not officially ed for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered." Despite this setback, the modding community hub Nexus Mods already has over 190 mods for the remaster, which has been out for only about a day as of this writing.
Over 190 Mods For Oblivion Remastered Are Already Out
Modders Are Already Hard At Work Tweaking The New Game
Mods might not be officially ed, but they're certainly still being created in droves. Most of the mods out for Oblivion Remastered at this point are UI and gameplay tweaks, but some address real in-game issues.
By far the most popular Oblivion Remastered mod already has over 40,000 s. This mod, created by P40L0, makes general improvements to how the game looks and plays by reducing stuttering, lowering latency, removing film grain, and more. Comments call the mod "wizardry," with many saying that using the mod resulted in a huge leap in FPS.

10 Biggest Differences In Oblivion Remastered To The Original Game
Oblivion Remastered looks incredible and changes a lot from the original game, from its stunning new visuals to a slew of gameplay features.
Another popular mod by Trainwiz removes leveled item rewards, an unpopular feature that some fans were hoping would be removed from the game as a QOL update. Other mods remove carry weight limits, change up the HUD, bump up the saturation, and make similar small and large edits to the game. As impressive as all these mods are just a day post-game-release, even more creations are likely on the way from the community, improving every aspect of the already impressive remaster.
How Will Bethesda Respond To Uned Mod Creation?
The Studio Is Historically Welcoming To Modders
Other studios might go after the modders for making unauthorized changes to their games, but Bethesda is known for ing modders. In fact, the studio showed their goodwill toward modders by sending the developers of the ambitious Skybllivion mod free game keys to Oblivion Remastered.
Skyblivion is a long-running project to remake Oblivion within the Skyrim game engine. The mod has taken over 13 years to create and is nearing completion for a potential 2025 release.
In light of Bethesda's history with modders and recent wholesome gesture toward the Skyblivion modders, in particular, the studio isn't likely to take any action against the mods that have already popped up for the new title. In fact, it's actually possible that mod will be added to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered at a later date, something that Bethesda has done in the past. Despite the lack of official mod , a huge collection of mods is already available for anyone who wants to modify their new game.
