The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered includes many of the details, charm, and love from the first game, but it seems that at least one small detail was overlooked in the remake. The remaster retells the classic RPG's story ugraded visuals and quality-of-life improvements, making this a win for both fans of the original game and an entirely new audience of modern gamers.

The recent remaster, which Bethesda is working on the next title in the series, The Elder Scrolls 6. However, it seems that the developers didn't manage to get every single tiny detail right, at least according to one extremely disappointed fan.

"Genuinely heartbroken by this," writes Reddit Xeredek, sharing an image of a shop sign that reads "Lelle's Quality Mercandise" with a small "h" clearly added after the fact to correct the typo. The remastered version, however, maintains the typo but loses the silly attempt that had been made to fix it.

Fans Notice When Oblivion Remastered Leaves Out A Small Detail

Even The Smallest Details Deserve Attention

This detail might seem small and insignificant, but every part of Oblivion has a deep and established lore, and even this small typo correction is no different. The sign is actually a reference to an inside joke that reveals a bit about the unfortunate Norbert Lelles, proprietor of the store in the docks of Anvil.

Oblivion Remastered has set a new standard for classic video game remakes, but that doesn't mean it can't learn a few tricks from other iconic titles.

According to Reddit Wandering_Silverwing, Lelles had to correct the misspelling when the dockworkers of Anvil made fun of him for it. The running joke is that this character is so unlucky that he can't even spell his own shop's sign correctly. Leaving out the correction isn't such a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is a small detail that adds to the world-building and has significance if you know what it's referring to.

All hope is not lost for bringing this detail back to the game. According to Reddit Maxsmack, Bethesda is actively taking and ideas from the community, and any information they receive now might affect future updates. The company keeps its finger on the pulse of its fans, not only bringing back a beloved franchise staple but also actively listening to players to see how they can improve it.

This attitude toward the fanbase has earned Bethesda plenty of praise from fans. As Reddit MogosTheFirst commented:

"I am amazed how dedicated they were in the beginning on delivering a good remaster... then actively asking [the] community for update ideas. That's some high quality game and post service."

For now, the small detail of the sign in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster remains without its hasty fix, but a later patch may address even this small omission, adding to the deep lore of the beloved fantasy game.
