The Office, and his age only made the character even more interesting. Unlike the fellow cast , Bratton shared a first and last name with his TV sitcom counterpart. Though his age was referenced a few times on the NBC workplace comedy, his proposed date of birth just added more confusion to the mysteriousness surrounding Creed.
Creed served as the Quality Assurance Director at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch for the duration of The Office. Before that, he was said to be a former hippie with an enigmatic past. Aside from his questionable comments about his life before working for the paper company, Creed was a member of a band in the 1960s around the time that he heavily used and distributed drugs. The character's kleptomaniac behavior and lack of morals added extra comedic layers to the figure, allowing him to become a quick fan-favorite.
While The Office never directly confirmed Creed's age, the character claimed that he was born on November 1, 1925, during season 4's "Fun Run." Seeing as the episode took place in September 2007, Creed would have been 81-years-old at the time. Bratton's character, of course, was known for making up lies, and there was an indication that Creed stole another man's identity while in prison. If this was indeed true, the real Creed Bratton might have been in his eighties if he was around for "Fun Run." Going off of Creed's alleged birthdate, he would have been 64 when he was hired at Dunder Mifflin in 1990. To compare, the actor behind the role was 62 when The Office debuted in March 2005.
The Office Fans Will Probably Never Know Creed's Real Age
In The Office season 2, Creed was almost fired from his position when manager Michael Scott was forced to downsize. Interestingly enough, Creed was technically never hired by the business. Instead, he walked into the office building one day and pretended to be employed until he was accepted as a member of the team. Rather than be fired at the age of 79, Michael let Devon White go, paving a way for Creed to stay employed.
In The Office season 7 finale, Creed got his chance as the acting manager following Michael's departure. The character was given the promotion due to his seniority as Dunder Mifflin's longest working employee. His stint was short-lived, just like his memory, but during his time in the role, Creed was around the age of 85.
Just ahead of The Office series finale, the sitcom featured a one-year time jump. In that time, Creed attempted to fake his death after becoming a wanted fugitive for dealing drugs, trafficking animal meat, and stealing LSD from the military when he was still with his band. Though he disappeared, it was revealed that Creed was hiding in a closet in the office. He was eventually taken away by the police after reuniting with some of his coworkers, bringing his arc to an end when he was allegedly 88-years-old. If Creed was still around today, he would be 95, which is far older than Bratton's current age of 77.
