One Piece Odyssey features the iconic of the Straw Hat pirates and two original characters that players can get familiar with as they play the game, but one stands out above the others as the best. While the Straw Hats never fail to be the center of attention, Adio and Lim still manage to become interesting people that fans could miss once the story ends.
[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for One Piece Odyssey.]One Piece Odyssey introduces Adio and Lim early in the game, and it is clear the two characters hide many secrets. Similar to other adventures in the series, the Straw Hats quickly warm up to the inhabitants of Waford as they try to recover their lost powers by revisiting previous events in their journey from One Piece’s manga and anime. With the knowledge and experience the Straw Hats have gained since these arcs, the whole crew is able to respond differently to events and Luffy, in particular, shows the most growth in One Piece Odyssey.
Luffy Is The Best Character In One Piece Odyssey
Luffy is the best character in One Piece Odyssey due to his various abilities in combat and exploration. Generally, it is more useful to have Luffy as the Leader when exploring the world since he can use his rubber arm as a makeshift hook shot to traverse the area quickly. Similar to the anime, Luffy is arguably the strongest Straw Hat member in the game, thanks to his high stats and resistance to Lightning and Poison. His diverse skills also allow Luffy to deal massive damage to both single and multiple targets, making him a great party member in many battles.
One Piece Odyssey Shows Luffy's Growth As A Character
Luffy manages to show the most character growth among all of the playable characters in One Piece Odyssey. This development can be clearly seen when he has to watch Ace’s death for the second time in a “Memory” despite the Straw Hats’ best effort to save Luffy’s brother. In the manga, Luffy completely breaks down when he sees his brother dies in his arm, but in the game, he is able to keep his cool and focus on the safety of his crew.
Although Luffy might be the best character in the game, he still needs his friends to cover his back. In the end, One Piece Odyssey is a game about teamwork, and each member of the Straw Hat pirates has their own role to play in the story and combat. Unlike other anime-based titles that are infamously bad, One Piece Odyssey is an entertaining RPG game with numerous great characters, with Luffy being the most fun to play as.
