Netflix's teaser ahead of One Piece Season 2's release date announcement, which features several Easter Eggs, much to the delight of fans.
This curious teaser, shared on Netflix's official YouTube channel, is meant to build anticipation ahead of the streaming platform's global fan event, TUDUM, while promoting One Piece Season 2, but it also features a hidden nod to one of the manga's iconic characters and gives a first sneak peek of a major development for Zoro in the arc that will continue the East Blue saga.
One Piece Live-Action's New Teaser Hides a Major Season 2 Development in Plain Sight
One Piece Live-Action Makes a Nod to Straw Hats' Iconic Manga Outfits
In the teaser, Zoro seems to be carrying three swords, which may seem like a continuity error, since he was only left with the Wado Ichimonji after Mihawk shattered his other two katanas in One Piece Season 1. But looking deeper into the handle colors, it's evident that Zoro has the Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri. The Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri are the katanas that Zoro gets during the Loguetown Arc in a sword shop given by the local owner, Ipponmastu, after the Straw Hat swordsman impresses him. This hints that the teaser takes place after the events of Loguetown Arc.
Furthermore, the cast of One Piece's live-action may channel the personalities of the Straw Hats, but they also follow their fashion style. In the new teaser, the clothes of Nami (portrayed by Emily Rudd) are a reference to the outfit that Nami changes into in chapter 128 of the manga at the end of the arc of Little Garden. Additionally, both Zoro's and Sanji's clothes (portrayed by Arata Mackenyu and Taz Skylar) are direct recreations of the outfits they have in color pages of One Piece's manga.
One Piece Season 2 Drops a Cameo of Pandaman in New Trailer
Manga Fans Are Used To Spotting Pandaman Throughout One Piece Story
Additionally, when Usopp starts hanging a sheet to use the snail projector, the head of Pandaman is on the table next to him. Pandaman is one of the most recognized gag characters with the longest recurring cameos in One Piece, as despite not having a significant role in the story, he makes an appearance in all the major arcs in the series since chapter 44 of the manga.

1 Straw Hat Is Now a Dad, And It Seems One Piece Set Up the Reveal Years Ago Without Anybody Noticing
One Piece chapter #1149 implied that Brook has secretly been a father, and the manga laid the groundwork for more backstory for Brook years ago.
Moreover, this isn't the first time that Netflix's One Piece live-action series has included a cameo from Pandaman. In Episode 4 of season 1, when Zoro pushed himself out of the well he was thrown in by the Black Cat Pirates, the white outline of Pandaman can be seen in the back right corner. Nevertheless, the Easter eggs in One Piece’s live-action show the love of the production for the source material, and continue to hype up fans ahead of the highly awaited second season.
